The lines wouldn't have 2000, but maybe like 900. haha You are already carrying an 800 psi bottle on your rig. I doubt you would notice a difference between 800 psi and 2000 psi should the bottle rupture. If properly mounted it shouldn't be an issue though.
True. haha I was just kind of pointing out a difference between street and offroad. The other downside is that if you are going by vibrations, pitch, yaw, etc, you are trying to react to things that basically already happened, which again kind of makes it a luxury thing. You hit a pot hole and the suspension tries to smooth it out after. If you hit whoops at a 100 mph, you want the suspension to already be set before you hit said whoops. This is why I said a system would be ungodly expensive as it tries to map out the terrain ahead of you.

it wouldn't map it out infront, it would happen at the moment of impact..or within milliseconds or micro seconds..depending on several factors..

CO2 is stored as a liquid, if it bottle ruptures it won't become a missile...unlike the nitrogen..

Computer yes, but a computer that'll go in car? idk. thats where one of the biggest compromises will be. While mobles have quad core now so might not be an issue. I havn't been following much lately for that stuff..

have to wait to get home to watch that..no youtube in the lab im in.

That's what I was saying. In order to have a feasible system for racing it would have to have a prediction system. For daily drivers a moment of impact system could work though.

If the bottle is properly strapped down it shouldn't go anywhere though.

Embedded systems are your friend here! Embedded systems are dedicating a processor to basically a single function so it would take multiple embedded systems, but they are relatively cheap to design and respond very rapidly since they only have 1 or 2 things to worry about. They could then communicate to a larger system capable of handling all the traffic of the smaller systems.

I'm sure it can be done. Most anything can be done if you have enough money and limited constraints. Google has built cars that can literally drive themselves around town, know how to react to stop signs and other cars and everything. They have logged over 600,000 miles in these cars with no issues. But the systems to do this are huge and expensive. They take up the entire trunk space of the vehicle. So it can be done, but it's just no where near feasible yet and may never be.

I will be the dissenting voice here. My truck rides as well as a factory Tacoma on the street. The spring rate is more stiff so it doesn't wallow around in the corners (body roll) as bad as a stock one, but the valving absorbs small imperfections in the road, like potholes and expansion joints as well as a factory truck. You guys should ride in one that's valved right. I took one ride in a full LT truck and started buying parts that month. I have a progressive valving rate due to the shock design as well as bypass set up. It's soft at ride height, and ramps up to massive resistance in the bump zones. I also think "smart" shocks will eventually catch up to the offroad performance of kings/fox/icon, but it will be many years from now. Street tuning is easy. Offroad shock tuning is more of a black art, and really tuned more to the driver than the car.

EDIT: also it is moot point not mute point.

    moot
    mo͞ot/
    adjective
    adjective: moot

    1. 1.
subject to debate, dispute, or uncertainty, and typically not admitting of a final decision.
"whether the temperature rise was mainly due to the greenhouse effect was a moot point"
synonyms:debatable, open to discussion/question, arguable, questionable, at issue, open to doubt, disputable, controversial, contentious, disputed, unresolved, unsettled, up in the air More"a moot point"
      • North American
having no practical significance, typically because the subject is too uncertain to allow a decision.
"it is moot whether this phrase should be treated as metaphor or not"

    verb
verb: moot; 3rd person present: moots; past tense: mooted; past participle: mooted; gerund or present participle: mooting

    1. 1.
raise (a question or topic) for discussion; suggest (an idea or possibility).
"Sylvia needed a vacation, and a trip to Ireland had been mooted"
synonyms:raise, bring up, broach, mention, put forward, introduce, advance, propose, suggest More"the idea was first mooted in the 1930s"

    noun
    noun: moot; plural noun: moots

    1. 1.
      British
an assembly held for debate, especially in Anglo-Saxon and medieval times.
      • a regular gathering of people having a common interest.

    2. 2.
      Law
a mock trial set up to examine a hypothetical case as an academic exercise.

    Origin
    [IMG]
Old English mōt ‘assembly or meeting’ and mōtian ‘to converse,’ of Germanic origin; related to meet1. The adjective (originally an attributive noun use: see moot court) dates from the mid 16th century; the current verb sense dates from the mid 17th cent.

Nope, they built it into their RS9000 shocks.
I don't think it worked very well though because there isn't anybody carrying the controller, and the shocks now have a manual tuning valve thingymabob.

I see. I seem to recall you saying at one point, that people who ride with you are surprised at how rough it rides on road, but are then stunned at how smooth it is offroad.

Also I have never road in a bone stock 2nd gen so I don't know what it rides like. My rear may actually be smoother than I think it is. I am basically comparing it to my front. My front is way smoother than my rear. I can hit huge speed bumps and my front end just smoothly glides across them and my rear is somewhat jarring (at least compared to the front that you don't even feel it). When I get off road my front end can't keep up with the rear though. I can't really compare my new setup to my old per se, because I didn't exactly hit specific speed bumps with old setup in a manner of "collecting data" for comparison. I do know the new bucks less than the old and I can go faster through whoops. haha It doesn't help that the old setup there were about 4 months between removing the old setup and completing the new one, which I have yet to even take it out completed.

I've fixed a lot of stuff since then... Mostly turned the tubes wide open at ride height, new tires at a lower psi, and insulated the shocks better with poly bushings. One of my kings is leaking, time for a rebuild and I might play with the valving even more (softer compression) as I can't bottom it out as it is. Well, I could, but it would require some likker. :D
