Just had a terrible experience with these steps. the two bolts that bolt from the bracket to the step are like 1mm apart so its impossible to get bot of them tight. they DO NOT fit on the 2014 tacoma double cab. only one threaded hole on the front mounts of the truck. pretty dumb, now i have to try return 80lbs.

Um. This does fit on the 2014 Tacoma DC. My truck is a 14 and they installed with no problems. All of the Tacomas have one threaded hole on the front. It's just how they're built. The bolts are fairly close to one another, but they're really not all that hard to install...

These steps fit exclusively on double cabs.

That's what I've been wondering. I have them and a friend was trying to come up with ideas on how to convert or reinforce them.

Some square tubing and 3/8 plate an it might just work

Put mine on over the weekend. It took about 30 min per side. The instructions SUCK! I mounted the brackets to the truck first then bolted up the steps. Blue Loctite on all bolts. Since the steps are 35 lbs each, I set them on two automotive jack stands and adjusted the height as needed. Really a simple install. The only trick is getting the bolt tight from the bracket into the back of the step.

I found a set of these on Amazon for $250 and ordered them but then my order said they are sold out and will ship when they get more in stock. Not sure when that will be, if ever but I'm not going to cancel the order just in case, the next best price I've seen has been $300.

So for all of you who've installed these already, did you all install the brackets first or did you assemble the steps and then install them?

Will post some pics in a bit, but I had problems:

    1) 3 of the twelve bolts that hold the brackets to the steps spin freely. I didn't back the bolt out to check and see if they were sheared, but I suspect there was a problem with the threads.

    2) There is only one bolt at the front of the truck that aligns with the bracket. The other one is further up (2014 DCSB)

My solution for the spinning bolts is to have someone spot weld the brackets to the steps. That way, they can still be removed.

My solution for the front bolt may be to weld a piece of steel extending the bracket up to the second bolt hole.

If I had wanted to do this much welding (or find someone to do it), I would have just bought weld-on steps in the first **** place.

It took me a very lazy three hours to get it installed. I used the long bolts (30mm) for the bracket-truck and the 25mm ones for the bracket-step. And I put the brackets on the steps first, then raised one side with jack stands, as someone up there ^ suggested in a prior post.

They look sharp, and they weren't any trouble to install. Still, kinda' bummed about 1/4 of the bracket-step bolts spinning.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005W35V0E/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

these were the ones I ordered.

erm, having trouble figuring out how to attach a pic...
