Just thought I'd let everyone know my local Toyota dealer just completed the leaf spring TSB (T-SB-0305-08) on my brand new '09 AC (non-TRD). It took a little while but moved pretty quickly once I received a case number from Toyota corporate.

Anyway - I received a call this morning letting me know the work was complete and the service adviser also asked me to bring in a copy of the TSB (already provided OBTW) for his records. He also mentioned to me that Toyota had rescinded the current TSB and issued a new one which instead of replacing the leaf springs and shocks, now only installs rubber bumpers.

I have no idea if this is true or not, but thought I'd let you know in case you need to have the work done as well.

I'll keep you posted as to whether the repair was conducted per the TSB verbatim.

I was worried about this. I just bought an access cab back in May. And i was thinking: should i get the TSB done (Or try to get it done) now while it's available, or should I wait until 25-30K and get new springs and shocks after the first year. Of course waiting you run the risk of something like this happening.

I have a G after my spring part numbers. other than this my numbers match exactly. Anyone else have this G and get the TSB?

Also anyone get the TSB at Prime Toyota in Maine on Rt 1 Saco?

I was thinking... maybe it'd be easier to get the TSB done before buying the truck, make it a demand that it's done before you sign or such... It'd be interesting if someone could try it at least...

OK - just wanted to let everyone know I went to pick up my Taco last night after the TSB was supposedly completed. While waiting to get a copy of the paperwork, I went out to inspect the work and found that instead of brand new 4-leaf springs and Bilstein shocks, I had brand new 3-leaf springs and OEM shocks.

Anyway - after much harraning w/ the service rep, he's going to do some investigation for me. He even went in and pulled out the removed springs to verify that the old/new part numbers were exactly the same...ugh.

Anyway - going to give Toyota a call to let them know and also wanted to thank whoever posted the post-TSB photos. I'm dropping them off this afternoon to clear up the confusion.

    More to follow.
