That truck used to be so nice. So sad to see all of the stuff richer racing do to it get taken off.

 

what is all of the stuff richer racing did to it that got taken off?? i have personally seen the truck out here in az. it is beat pretty bad. guy is down in tuscon

 

Why upgrade the rear end? Are you consistently destroying diffs? Do you just want a wider axle in the rear so that you wont have to use spacers?

The brakes are going to be your challenge when swapping rear ends on these trucks. I had a nightmare getting mine sorted and would not recommend going down this path unless you have the time and $$ to deal with all of the headaches.

 

Does the earlier tundra (2007-2013) have a wider axle?

 

Well from what I can tell, he took off everything except the bumper. I'll try and find an original pic of it.

The first gens do by like an inch or something i belive and then the new 2007-2013 i think are 5 lug if im not mistaken

 

Yes 5 lug. But you can re drill the axle easy enough.

 

I'm mainly looking for housing strength and width. I have a bent stock housing and need to figure out what to do in the next week since my truck is nearing completion. Getting rid of spacers would be nice as well.

I was hoping there's something that can still use my third and not have to deal with anything extensive. If not I'll just order a ruffstuff truss and truss a stock axle and call it a day. Not looking to go balls out on a rear end till it gets linked.

 

Then a swap isn't worth it, lots of work for an inch mehh

 

Hey guys I'm looking preferably for some fox or king 2.0 4" bumps or 4" shortened to 2".... Let me know if see anything pop up. I keep checking the usual sites, if I can't find any in good shape real soon gonna order new ones

 

My truck is at 81" wide with an 02 tundra rearend on 15x8 wheels and 35" bfg's

Just to get an idea.

 

Do you know if that 8" housing will fit the stock thirdmember? What about the rest of the stock axle parts, drums and axle shafts? Didnt know they made that might go that rout when i replace my third from east coast gear supply to get a better width
