+1 but I still love the statement of the guy above. Not to change topic and I know this is not politically correct. What if the guy was Scottish, German, Vietnamese, Cuban - would it have been different? I hope not.

True, but with a ccw BAN you have no other choice. I can either open carry and scare the heck out of people (it's not common here) and quite possibly get arrested for disorderly conduct (at least he was found not guilty). Or conceal carry and break the law but likely have none of the above probelms.

    . . .it's so frustrating

I just wish more people practiced it. Then again - some people just don't care.

I have no problem with open carry as long as they are doing it respectfully and obeying the law. The man carrying the rifle was obviously not pointing at anyone and had no intention of harming the president. Gun carrying is all situational. The majority of people don't abuse it but then you get the few a'holes that ruin the reputation of carrying guns for others.

...and those few a'holes are the ones that get regularly put on the news. Gotta love emotionally charged and sensationalized "journalism".

Some of the other a'holes are some of the 'educators' and broadcasters that drill it in to our kids heads (and adults heads) that only evil people own guns and that guns are the problem.

Thankfully, where I live I feel safe enough to not carry a gun, but sometimes I do have a knife on me. Never have used it and hopefully will never have to.

I totally agree with 28003, I would feel a whole helluva lot safer around a law abiding citizen carrying a rifle respectively than someone breaking the law talking on the phone while driving. I have lived in Washington State most of my life, I took Hunters Safety at a very young age and have been around guns my entire life. I feel safer knowing that if an intruder or criminal was in or around my property that I would have my own source of protection. I don't have to worry that it will take 20 minutes for the Sheriff to get here, etc. The day I turn 21 I will be getting my concealed weapon permit and I will be carrying...

Oh and the pocket knife thing, I carry a knife on me everyday. Even through high school...

I Love Guns!! I've been carrying an M-16 around everywhere with me for the last 6 months. I think that if everyone were carrying the crime rate would be way less. Think of it this way. If you were a criminal, would you mess with the folks you know are carrying or not carrying. If everyone has got Gun less crimes would happen. And for those gangbangers let them kill each other off. We dont want them around anyways. Guns dont kill people, Stupid F&@ks with guns kill people.

I always have a Knife with me at all times.

Ask the Iranian citizen's if they would like to be able to carry guns. I totally disagree with Debbie Downer.....again....the presence of the guns keeps people peaceful. Same effect as if the cops were there packin.

Bob, here in Arizona [as well as other states in the union] the right to keep AND BEAR arms is paramount to our rights as citizens of a free state and country.

Born and raised in Arizona, a 70 year life long shooting sports advocate and dedicated hunter, I've often found myself in public with a rifle slung over a shoulder or a hand gun strapped to my waist. No one here complains for there is no reason for complaint.

Not until the eastern run press intrudes into our affairs with their big city anti-gun liberal bias worn on their sleeves do we even see mention of such things as someone carrying a loaded weapon in public. Thank God for the second amendment and the rights it guarantees to John Q. Citizen -- rights that are taken seriously here in Arizona.

Bob, I have great respect for you! But the damn yankees have their west coast contingency, their Chi town thugs and others, which, in my opinion are as bad and maybe worse. Live strong Bob! We all have a lot to give thanks for people like you!

Oh how i wish i could open carry here in CA. I live in a house in SFV that is surrounded by ghetto apartment buildings and housing. We hear the police chopper just about every night, sirens about every other hour. Just last night I was talking to my neighbor who said his wife was at Rite Aid while it got robbed. Some kid robbed the pharmacist for drugs. Turns out, about an hour before that he robbed a gas station (or liquor store?i dont remember what it was now). If other people were shopping in there and carrying legally, dude would have been on the floor quick. Oh shit he's dead now. Looks like we won't have to worry about the next time he wants to get high will we?

One thing people seem to forget....Whats more scary? A guy openly carrying a weapon? Or a Guy walking around in a ski mask and sweatshirt...In the summer time? Who would you rather stand near?
