5th wheel hitch

Hi, I am a new member and hope to be able to get some very needed info., on my 2009 Toyota Tacoma .

 

I am trying to find out if there is a 5th. wheel hitch made to fit my 2009 Toyota Tacoma ext. cab.It has a composite box 6'2" long and seems like it needs rails that I cannot find. Anyone with info, please let me know.

 

Our trucks aren't ment to handle the weight and stress a fifth wheel can do. Buy a Tundra for hauling a fifth wheel.

theres only one person i have seen install a fifth wheel on these trucks it was on toyota nation. he drilled through the bed and into metal braces under it.

 

How much weight would a 5th wheel trailer be putting down on the tacoma bed?

My gawd, with the stock leafs....it'd probably overload it.

Hey janster, I towed my jeep on a 16x7 flatbed hauler fine w/o the WD hitch (i dropped 500 bucks on it, and went to install it and it turned out my trailer sits too low to the ground, live and learn i guess). Just thought id share that with you cause i remember you helping me when i asked.

To the OP, the beds of these trucks are plastic, a very strong plastic might i add, but not strong enough for a 5th wheel hitch. I've seen somewhere online where a guy made one for his truck, but never posted back on its success.
