    Announcements

Working with a possible new shop closer to my new place and they are able to offer some better services at a competitive price. Also working with the extrusion manufacturer to do a custom extrusion that is anodized black. I am going to continually try and improve the product while keep the prices the same or having minimal increases. My end goal is to offer a fully coated rack system for no much more than the current prices. I don't know if it will be possible but I am going to try.

I am looking at some minor changes to the the rack as well and a new bed rack design that will mirror the style of the roof racks. Stay tuned!

    Sub'd.

I'm curious to see the possible changes to the rack. I was looking at the baja rack, but this might work better for me.

So I figured I would let you guys know that the next group of these racks to be sold will be more of a group buy style. I have about sold all of the racks that were in stock and with the possible transition to a new fabrication shop I will need to get a minimum of about 7-8 orders. This can be a mixture of cabracs, racks for toppers, or racks for 3rd gen. 4runners. I will start a list in the original post as well as here. If you are interested just PM me.

Also, payment cleared for both TRD11 and GUAdam so I am processing those orders and getting them out as quick as I can.

For this next set of racks is there a possibility of slight design changes or an anodized option like you mentioned earlier?

The design changes will be minimal but there will be some. The rack will be slight longer in the rear by about 2" and extend further down in the front to allow for a deflector that hugs the roof and actually curves along the top of the windshield. I am still waiting to hear back about the custom extrusion with anodizing. If it doesn't work out I may just see about having them anodize the standard stuff. Prices on that are unknown still though.

I am very interested in your racks! I almost pulled the trigger on a front runner set up a wild back but could not get over the price. I would like a quote on one to fit a 2013 double cab. I would like to have enuf cross bars to almost have a solid floor and can you add a mout to the frog that will accommodate a 52" light bar?

Was going to paint the rack this weekend, only had some time this morning, but am now starting to think more about anodizing it. If the price is right, seems like the better way to go... Going to get some quotes to get everything anodized locally and go from there! Sucks, because I'm dying to get this thing on the truck, but haven't had much free time to do anything with it!

Got my first quote back... $450!?!? No thanks! Granted, they said "at most $450", but still way more than I can spend. So, back to paint! On that front, I plan on starting with some self etching primer. From there, any recommendations on what paint to use? What about spray on bedliner? I've read mixed reviews of the 3M stuff. I've used hammered metal spray on diff covers before with good success. Wondering if that would be a good option for the high wear areas like the crossbars?

Well I can say that the self etching primer is a must and depending on what you use it for the tpyical rattle can on the crossbars will wear fast. I have been loading mine on and off with lumber and such and the paint has worn pretty quick in those high contact areas.
