I'm trying to make the same decision. Would the original features work the same and the new features be the ones that are in question?

For anyone buying a plus model, lets return the favor to them and report back for the models that haven't been confirmed.

Apparently the plus model does everything that the regular model does with the possibility of these new features. Again, i stress its a possibility, not a guarantee. I'm 75% sure i am going to just get the plus model, see how it works....if it works. And if it doesn't and i can't send it back, i won't be out as much thanks to the GB

Not sure which mount to get. Are people using the vertical mount to mount this on the steering column? From UGs description the horizontal mount makes more sense.

I use the suction cup mount and you can put it in any corner of the windshield or above the rearview mirror :D love it!

There are no known issues with the EM plus, nor do we believe there will be any issues specific to the Tacoma or Toyota's. With any new product release, and spite our rigorous testing, there is always the chance of a bug, hence the experimental warning. The EM plus was built upon the EM v1.2 hence if there were an issue it would likely be isolated to a new feature in the EM plus. To date, no issues have been reported.

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
I mounted mine over the mirror with the 3m horizontal mount.
From the last UG group buy.
