My 01 Taco has that traditional old car smell. I have some air freshener I spray every now and then but that only lasts so long. Is there a way to either get rid of the smell completely or to make the truck smell different? Such as the Black Ice smell?

Steam cleaner with some quality carpet cleaner. You are trying to cover the smell and that won't work. Dryer sheets work good to get oder out that's not from carpet or seats. Such as after you bring your dogs along.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
    My suggestions:

    1. Definitely agree a good steam cleaning of carpet and seats. Needs to be a pro-quality cleaning machine that really steam cleans, not just sprays warm water and sucks it back up.

    2. Lysol. Spray this disinfectant everywhere. One time application, preferably after you steam clean. Will kill anything "living" that may be causing smells.

    3. A good "fix" is Fabreeze. Spray on everything liberally. Reapply every week or so. Will probably need to use it forever. Doesn't really get rid of the source of the smells, but encapsulates them in a sugar-cornstarch molecule and prevents them from smelling. Very effective.

    4. Change your cabin air filter. Choose a replacement filter embedded with carbon. This will help neutralize smells.

Do all of this and you'll have the best smelling truck around.

Would I have to take out the front seats? And where would I be able to find a steam cleaner like that? College kid so don't have a lot of money right now. And I don't think I have a cabin air filter

3inch front 2inch rear lift with add a leaf and extended brake lines trd exhaust
I use dryer sheets under the seats that helps in my opinion and are cheap and you usually already have them
