    No. Just Catholics. And Americans.

The majority of the world's Christians are Catholic. The death penalty doesn't appeal to us. As a matter of doctrine. :)

the Vatican doesn't have the ultimate say so what Christianity is all about.
Catholicism is a religion made by man. People get messed up in thinking the pope is some kind of god. Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ. Only he forgives sins not the pope or his priests.

Like it or not, the death penalty holds people accountable for their actions. Something that has gone by the wayside in this country.

And life in prison doesn't hold people accountable?

In the US prison inmates went from 300,000 in 1980 to 2,500,000 today, 800% increase. How is that gone by the wayside?

Not even close.... Free food/healthcare/shelter and in some cases education at the expense of society. Criminals often get better treatment than many hardworking citizens, it's disgusting. If we offed more of our violent criminals in a timely and even public manner it may help deter crime...

That's not working, death penalty doesn't deter crime.

But putting 8 times more prisoners in jail seems to be more expensive than the savings from the few we want to kill. Anymore most prisoners aren't even in for violent crimes, punishable by death.

It's fantasy to think prisoners are getting great treatment.

I took a tour of the county jail, while it isnt a prison those guys had 3 or 4 tvs and a basketball court. Alot of them seemed to be having fun.

They need some leg shackles on with a sledge hammer and a job turning big rocks into gravel. The gaurds should also be able to use a taser or whatever on them so they will work. Prison or jail shouldnt be a place that some people want to go back to.

Its not working because we don't do it. In the last 40 years less then 1% (1400ish) of violent criminals have been executed. Even then, you only hear about the infamous ones, how can the message be received when your not sending it.

But I'm pro abortion, if men could get pregnant we'd all be for it.

That's the point I always make to end the death penalty argument.. Then it usually starts a different argument
