Does this look lifted/leveled?

Huh. Missing a leaf? That sucks. I wonder why they might have taken one of those out?

And yeah I'm working on the rust soon, up here in South Dakota I was amazed it had only this much rust after 18 years.

 

Somebody might have removed one leaf to make the truck sit level, or I don't know if the 2 wheel drives have two springs like my Nissan but somebody might have put 2wd springs on.

 

The 5 lugs do have 2+1 leaf packs, I wonder if it got swapped out to 5 lug leafs. That's gonna mess with your load capacity

 

Well now that I know that my suspension is wonky, I'm thinking I might get a lift. I have some money saved up that I was going to spend on armor (prepping for a move to a place with more forestry roads) but I think suspension might be better, I have a couple questions though:

Would 2" of lift make my 31" tires look small/disproportionate?

Also I want to spend 800 or a little less, toyotec has a full OME kit for 800, but it just has AAL, would that work with my 2+1's or should I just look into getting an aftermarket leaf pack? And if so what is a reasonably priced leaf pack? (I don't haul too often)

 

Dakar leaf packs are the cheapest and lift about 2.25", but then you have to get extended u bolts, brake lines, proportioning valve extension so it adds up quick

 

Second gens have 2+1 leaf packs from factory in the early years of manufacturing. They then put a TSB(technical service bulletin) out to add-a-leaf because those leafs sagged under weight and suck. Unfortunately, my previous owner didn't get the TSB done..!#*@$*!

Wouldn't that same stuff be necessary even with AAL? But my main question is could I get away with AAL if I don't plan on hauling much weight? Or would the AAL even be compatible with my 2+1 pack?

I believe the AAL would still work. You could always get a used pair at a junkyard and then add the AAL to that. If it was me I would just add a set of dakars or even the wheelers leaf packs. And you wanna talk about a half ass previous owner haha? My truck has the air box siliconed and screwed together at the beginning of the tube cause someone broke it. And he painted the flares and bumpers black, but did a terrible thin paint job with no sanding just to make it look better. Now it's all peeling

 

Are wheelers leaf packs decent? I don't wants worse ride than stock.

And haha silicone. I just did my valve covers recently and found out that the PO glued in the spark plug gaskets.

 

The wheelers packs are good packs from what I've read. They have a 4 leaf that doesn't lift and a 5 leaf that lifts 1.5"

 

Definitely stock buddy. Lift that rig!!
