I dont understand it either.. they are too short for any type of lift at all almost.. Thats why I'm switching to 10" kings in the back :D

All I've had ridden on were what I think were brand new KYB's on my 96, oem on my 03, 5100's, and now the Icons.

My 96 could barely go down a washboard road without the rear end kicking out, I think that was due to 14 year old leafs with a cheap add-a-leaf.

The 5100's were better than my 10 year old OEM's obviously.

I definitely noticed a difference between the Icons and 5100's, but I'm not sure how much the new leafs contributed to that as well.

All I know is that the 5100's did their job for me, but I also didn't beat on them as hard or for as long as many others have like you. So who knows how much longer I would have had with them. Aren't leaking yet haha so they're still good enough for me to sell eventually.

I feel like the reason people are blowing the seals on the 5100's are because they are to short and they are over extending(if your using them w/ a lift).. That's what's happening to me at least(mine haven't gone yet though) everytime I go over a bump it sucks because the shocks max out and drag the back of the truck down with it. IMO if you have 3"+ lift from a leaf pack you should be running 10" travel shocks. After several measurements I determined The 2.0 smooth body 10" kings are a perfect fit for me (can't use stock mounts for 10" shocks. Unless your running billy 5125's)

my 5125s are essentially 5100s, just a lot longer and as i understand a hair softer. if they blow...i will concede and admit they are shit. but if they dont blow...it means you have been running incorrect length shocks or got them from someone who was running incorrect length shocks. mmk?

sweet.... I may or may not build some half doors or tube doors this summer....

I love my 5125s. im on my second set. they work and ride very well as long as u dont back up into a rock with them being the point that hits the rock:)
ive always ordered mine to be longer than what I measure on droop and shorter than what I measured on compression. never had a problem

I over shot my extended by 3/4" and my compression I overshot by an inch. im confident I wont ever over extend or bottom out the shocks. shocked should never limit your suspension, either way
