We passed on the hot laps, had to be there by 1230. Traffic was bad since they weren't letting people go down Laburnum. Parking wasn't bad for us though since we had the Toyota owners lot passes.

NASCAR issued fines Tuesday in the wake of the post-race scuffle between drivers Marcos Ambrose and Casey Mears last Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway.

NASCAR fined Ambrose $25,000 and Mears $15,000 for their actions in the Sprint Cup Series garage. The two were found in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 12-4.9 (Behavioral Penalty; involved in an altercation in the garage area after the race) in the 2014 NASCAR Rule Book.
Both drivers were also placed on probation until May 28.

why can't they just let men be men?

Yeah. Those fines were a slap on the wrist. I can't wait to see how they do at Talladega! Retaliation?

Got my tickets in hand! Anyone else going to the Talladega race?

I think Nascar shouldn't have fined them at all. They preach and preach about drivers "having at it", to be "who they are". There are maybe 7 or 8 guys in Nascar right now that would've thrown that punch at Casey, and Ambrose being who he is, did it. $25,000 and probation until end of May for those particular teams is a lot and I hate that nascar did that, that incident was good for the sport because it got a lot of attention and nascar should have let it go.

I think what keselowski did to Kenseth's car after the race should be a fine and not the fight between Ambrose and mears. And I'm a keselowski fan.

4th time in a row we have been to Talladega, and loved every second of it! Even got to stand up front at driver intros and get a high-5 from Danica, as well as Harvick, and Bobby Labonte.

Sat near the start/finish line and had a blast! Loved watching Danica do some of her best driving. Can't say the girl can't hang with the big boys. I was disappointed in the crew chief's calls on two stops that really hurt her restart, but she still did a great job. Several times she was pushing her way forward, but held up by traffic. Spotter did a good job calling (I have the FanVision TV with scanner) I wish she would have had a couple of better spots near the end, but it just didn't work out. Either way, she is doing better. I loved how she didn't bat an eye when Keselowski made his dumb move! Haha. Now if she can just get better on the most common mid-size tracks!

    glad you had fun.

That first wreck keselowski was in was definitely a move by Danica to fit up in line between kese and Gordon, she misjudged it and turned keselowski. The second wreck kese was in, I don't even know what to say, I like him because he drives 110% no matter what and speaks his mind and doesn't take crap, but when you are six laps down, just get out of the way of the leaders.

Wasn't "entirely" his fault the second time, a lot of cars were getting loose on their own, but still, dumb to be making aggressive moves in the front -6 laps!

The first 30 laps were great, kind of a snooze fest in the middle and some dumb driving by a lot, including Jr who decided to just ride around in the back cause he thought a big wreck was gonna happen, wtf! Lol.

Kesolowski needs to be fined for the 2nd wreck. That's "actions detrimental to stock car racing" now what Ambrose and Mears were involved in.

I don't see how the girl is to blame for Kesolowskis getting punted and for once i can tip my hat to her ,she did not get out of the gas if she had of you can bet that a big wreck would of ensued in that situation she did the right thing !

I gotta disagree with you there, and even the announcers said differently. They said that when Keselowski started coming down, the side draft puller her in some. It has happened before. She just did differently than he expected. I think he expected her to play nice and back off the throttle. Instead she didn't back off until there was contact. Even the people sitting around me all agreed, it was his fault, not her's. They even booed him as he came out of the pits afterwards. It was LOUD.

I think everyone is expecting her to keep driving the way she has been: cautious and careful. She is starting to get more confident and isn't going to take any shit anymore. You should have heard her on the scanner! lmao. She had a few choice words for him. She was calling all race that she was running temps that were close to 260, which is not good. As the day progressed though she was doing what her crew chief was saying until the last caution. He called for 2 tires and splash of fuel, and they expected to get out near the back. She told him he better put 4 tires on, because the car was "getting a little loose in, and loose out". I was quite proud of the fact that she is starting to act like a driver, and not just do what is being told, but throw her opinion in there.

Watch the front view replay in this video, def. Danica came up into Brad, brad did come down a little bit too though, but to say brad came down on her and she held a line is wrong

Yes, I see the video, and watched it. And as the announcer stated during the replay, as Brad started down, he pulled a side draft, which drew her up the track some. Either way, he should have given himself more clearance before he came down. It was too early in the race for a move like that. Running the replay, at the 1:00 mark you can even see he either dragged his brake, or lifted.

Listening to the audio of the video above, at :28 seconds it was said he came down too early. At :48 the comment was said she moved up "a little" and then it was mentioned that his side draft would have pulled her up. I'm not the only person who thought that. Like I said, he was booed big time by the entire grandstands at the start/finish line when he pulled out of the pits afterwards. Even the people around me who watched it said he didn't give enough room for her.

I would recommend not listening to DW, he confuses himself most of the time lol. Danica did say on her in car that she was trying to get up behind brad, but that the side forces moved them in to each other. It wasn't anyone's fault specifically is what I'm trying to get across, it's obvious in the video, I don't care what the announcers say.

Brad drove like a idiot regardless, hope he learned something for the fall race.
