I'm not a fan of nuclear weapons, anymore than I am of chemical or biological weapons. They all frighten me.

Wow! I don't know if you 'lived' there. Maybe your life wasn't congruent with some that lived there. As one of my mentors used to tell me when I was looking at something in a awful way, he would say "Where else does that show up in your life." I'm not saying that would be true in your case. I just think it is a good principle to discuss with oneself when something is not to our liking. I know I have demons.

Unfortunately my work brings me into the intimate detail of many So Cal residents lives. There are many 'shit holes' in this world and I would in no way call AZ a shit hole. As a matter of fact it is possesses some of the most beautiful places on this earth.

The criminal element will ALWAYS have access to firearms no matter what laws are passed. Why then would you remove the element of mutually assured destruction for anyone who feels the need to commit violent acts against other human beings?

I think at the heart of the anti-gun argument is arrogance. "If everyone else knew what I know or could be taught what I've been taught, then the world would be peaceful and everyone would live in harmony". The fact of the matter is that no amount of education or discussion will dissuade someone who's SOLE intention is to cause harm to other people.

 

With the word going around that they are trying to expel our rights to bare arms, especially here in cali, i think what he did was right. showing the people that u can be in a crowd with a weapon and be peaceful at the same time. His muzzle was pointed towards the deck, i just couldnt tell if the safety of the rifle was engaged but ill give him the benefit of the doubt. Plus he presented himself in a very appropriate manner without hostility. here in california u can do the same. u can open carry an unloaded pistol, holstered, but it has to be visible. u can also have a loaded magazine on u but it just cant be in the weapon. Texas is another reason why we should be able to carry weapons. They do it as an everyday thing, yet their crime rate is real low bc they know if they f up, someone around them gots the heater. even that 90yo granny down the street toting a Dirty Harry magnum in her bra. Whoever said it earlier, education is what our people need and the gentleman on TV with his AR is contributing.

I'm not a particular fan of guns. However, I'm far less concerned with the people who open carry than I am with the people who illegally conceal.
