What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

well obviously. Lcas can bend, spindles can tweak, lca bushings can give/wear. but he has the same amount of lift as me in the front. I drove on stock Lucas forever with 0* caster and correct camber. replaced my lca bushings and installed the camburgs ucas, Bam perfect alignment.

 

I'm not following then. Why just automatically suggest that he needs new UCAs, especially when root cause is unknown?

well he doesnt have alot of caster to begin with. with that much lift and stock ucas, theres no way you can achieve much caster.... i think the most ive ever seen with stock ucas and 2.5"+ of lift up front is maybe 1.2*. not even close to spec.

Odd, have to see if Adam chimes in but I do believe he was advertising he was within spec or at least happy with what he got prior to this latest alignment.

 

there is a few pics of that rusty pile in my build thread, I had a trip down memory lane one evening and got Scout all over my thread... It's more yard art than anything else atm.

 

I helped build my friends Scout II, 73 I believe... thing was friggen awesome.

Still see it around town even though he sold it about 15 years ago.

 

i remember seeing his printout prior to his trip as well. it wasnt a bad alignment but it wasnt very close to spec, i do remember that part.

V8's offered were 266, 304, 345, & 392 ci. They are fun for sure but finding parts was a challenge, so the switch to something more off the shelf for the powerplant was made. Plus carbs suck. I went TBI and never gave it a second thought.
I started building the Tacoma because things like roll up windows and AC are becoming more important as the years roll by.
