Something that was recommended to me. Open the door that your jacking the truck up by. That way if it lets loose the handle doesn't hit your truck or window.

maybe it was but the truck rolled up hill causing the chalk to be behind the front tire instead of infront of the rear tire

    F/L SAI: Before 9.4*, After 9.6*, Spec Range: 10.3* 11.8*
    F/L Included Angle: Before 9.6*, After 9.5*, Spec Range: 9.2* 12.2*

    F/R Camber: Before -0.3*, After -0.2*, Spec Range -1.1* 0.5*

    F/R Included Angle: Before 10.6*, After 10.4*, Spec Range: 9.2* 12.2*

    Front
Cross Camber: Before 0.5*, After 0.1*, Spec Range: -0.5* 0.5*
Cross Caster: Before 0.6*, After -0.4*, Spec Range: -0.5* 0.5*

Total Toe: Before 1.69*, After 0.07*, Spec Range: -0.15* 0.25*

Yep the Safari rack that was installed in Feb. Yes it was offroad.

When the lift first went on the Camber was set to 1.4*. I noticed the biggest change in caster after the Safari rack was installed. It still drives straight, doesn't wander and tires are wearing evenly. RTC isn't great but not bad.

So, I know I can get more adjustment with aftermarket UCAs, but what else should I be looking at here? LCA bushings? Bottom line is I'm not gonna drop cash on UCAs right away, unless a bunch you start buying tents. ;)

well Adam based on those measurements^ the truck should pull left pretty good. too much negative camber and positive caster on the right side compared to the left side. but thats just me being anal. installing the new rack wouldnt change caster. rack has no effect on caster.

worn lca bushings can give u varying numbers. menaing u align it, numbers look good. go drive it, realign it, numbers are off.
easy to look up there and see how badly they are cracked. I did mine because the eccentrics were siezed. you could also have bent the lcas resulting in less caster? could have tweaked the spindles, (in reference to the photo you posted) changing the camber, which when adjusted to get within spec, could sacrifice caster.

my opinion.... check ur lca bushings, replace as needed. bite the bullet and order ucas, align the truck. see how much better it is. im betting it would be fine. then weld on some spindle gussets so you know they wont bend.

Yeah I'll be checking it all out. I can say that it doesn't pull at all in either direction. That was one of the first things I tried when I left the shop this morning and hopped on the highway. Went almost .5 mile with no hands on the wheel before it drifted enough to touch the wheel again.

yeah cross camber caster doesnt effect lifted truck much because u have knoby heavier tires that can pull themselves. im just worriedabout that photo u posted with the tires all cambered out. i wouldnt think a toe problem would cause that much camber issues....

being that we are on the topic of alignments, will lifting my drivers side to get rid of the taco lean effect my toe?

itll move the angles but ever so slightly. just did this last week for a customer. he had .5 inch of lean. twisted up the leftcoilover to get it within an 1/8th inch. realingned it, wasnt too bad

yeah i was sitting level brought it in for an alignment after i put in my rack and they did a full alignment and changed my drivers side caster and apparently that dropped my drivers side. Im an 1" off based off measurements on the rear frame.

i hate the lean but i also hate not driving straight

I would adjust the cams to give more negative camber...(and as a result you'll likely get more caster). Truck will handle like it's on rails...because racetruck. Problem solved

That's what I would do anyway.

FWIW I run almost -2 * of camber just so I can get more caster. I wear my tires pretty evenly but I live in the mountains with lots of twisties.....and drive like an asshole

While I don't drive quite like you :anonymous: I'm not opposed to some negative camber. :burnrubber:

You're going to get my personal opinion on this...which will not necessarily be inline with "professional" alignment techs. Keep in mind I align my truck to suite my needs...not for the least resistance or comfort of the pussy driver.

The more caster you can get the better. 2* is the MINIMUM caster I would run. I prefer 3+ at ride height. Return to center is faster and easier, especially at speed. Truck becomes...one with the driver. :D
