    Do you have to take the insulation off the charger cable? Or does the power feed directly to the fake battery?
    Because the gopro won't film while charging the battery or because it's such a heat source?

    Nope, just run it out the back.

    The GoPro won't turn on unless the battery is in. And the only way to charge the battery through the GoPro is via the usb on the side which means you can't have a case on. Does greatly reduce the likeliness of overheating issues that the 3's have.
