The mount is bolt on, unless you did radial mounted where the lower would need to be swapped. My buddy was running around with stock brakes so he could quick swap for when he took it out to ride the dez on his knobies.

At the very least you would have to swap calipers. Maybe the whole brake assembly

I'm lazy, and all these things put together would make it a pain to swap every few days. I'm also geared down pretty low to get the SX gearing usable in the tight twisties. Wouldn't be very much fun to top out at 50+/- on the street.

Just a new 320mm rotor and a caliper relocation bracket.

Interesting. So swap wheels and the bracket back and forth from sumo to dirt?

Yep. It would be pretty nice, but for me there are too many negatives as far as bike setup goes for me to take it on. I'd rather just have a woods/track bike that is set up exactly how I want it rather than making it not really great at either. I know Phil, I'm a pansy and it's all bolt on stuff that wouldn't take more than 20 mins. to swap. Except the lights.

Gearing wouldn be an issue if you had to wheel sets built. But yes it would take about an hour to swap back and forth.

I'm down a tooth in the front and up two in the rear. I'd have to run a ridiculously small rear to get any speed back, so I'd also need another chain as well. And about 20 mins. with this

I was giving you all sorts of fluff with that hour. Took into account time it took to grab a beer, open said beer, drink said beer, repeat a few times then on to the bike. Fuck me,, should take ten with that.

Whoa now, easy with the fluff talk. Beer, Beer, Beer. Hey, here's a pictar. Just swapped some YZ forks onto the lady's TTR. World of improvement over those POS conventional "forks". Bout to tear into the bottom end for a rebuild in mine.

Man this thread took off. I sold my 250 recently, and went to the dark side with a 2013 yz250f. I really like it.

The main thing I like about it is the stability and the suspension, power delivery is meh just kinda farts along. I got my 05 yz250 used and the suspension never really got dialed in to my liking as I never re-valved it. I do however miss my old yz144, man that bike was kick.

Anyone have a KTM sxs 300 kit for a 250 sx '07-'12 they want to get rid of? Or a complete motor? Mine is wasted.
Edit: Just ordered a complete bottom end kit and a sxs 300 big bore kit. Tree Fiddy SX time.:woot:
Edit #2: Just got word the sxs kit is backordered for three weeks. FML.

Yes, Nuetech is one of my sponsors..:D

I have run tire balls, bibs and tubliss, I run TuBliss primarily now, I really love them. One thing is that you MUST use a stiff sidewall type tire.

Lower pressure, better contact patch, tons more traction and even if you do puncture your tire its totally rideable since the inner bladder locks the bead on 360 degrees.

    Yep!

You dont need to but they will last much longer this way, I recommend to have a spare set of wheels for racing that have bibs in them that you hang up after use so they dont get flat spots

Who is this speedfreak you speak of?
I sold the Supermoto CR500 a few years ago, I bought 2 CR500s about 6 months ago (99 and 01) and pulled the motor to build my AF500.

Now I have a mint condition desert ready 2001 CR500 for sale! Anybody?
