    Just installed my bilstien 5100s set at 1.75 in the front of my 2011 AC. But put the bottom strut plate on backwards so the truck is like 3" higher then what I wanted. Get to do it again tomorrow. I've been waiting for an awesome first post. You guys are great btw. :)

    I thought about the tailgate. Sounded like a good idea. But there are mixed reviews - the cable and strut interfere with each other and the cable likes to get pinched. I encourage you to research it a little before you buy. See what you think - it might not be that big of a deal.

    I had the tailgate struts. Pure junk... the strut and cable binded whenever I close the tailgate. The strut would leave deep impressions on the plastic jacket that is covering the cable. Over time that will fail and leave the cable exposing too further damages. This is after the first install too!! Here's my picture below:

    I have the tailgate strut and I like it. The cable and the strut rub a little but it hasn't been an issue. If I had a stock tailgate I wouldn't bother since it is so light though... I have a tailgate reinforcement plate on my tailgate that made my tailgate ridiculously heavy and the strut catches it nicely. When I bought my Tacoma it already had the hood struts, tailgate strut and tailgate reinforcement plate on it though.
