What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

How much of a pain are they to remove? Or are you not removing

On my worn out stock suspension it felt a little spongy after I got the sliders put on.

Granted I had put 150,000 miles on that truck so I was very sensitive to any change... so I'm sure it was magnified by that fact.

But it felt like center weight (obviously).

 

I've put 120,000 on this one so I know exactly what your saying.
I didn't realize you had sliders before a lift, probably the best way to start when I think about it.

 

Gassed up today and was pleasantly surprised I got 17.3 mpg even though this tank was 260 miles of a lot of tuning, highway WOT pulls at full 9.5 psi boost, and a lot of stop and go pulls. This next tank will be highway and easy driving so I'm thinking I can get 19 or 20. The best I've seen so far is 18.5, and that was before most of the armor.

 

got the rig out of the shop for the first time in 2 years after the SAS did pretty well the bit I drove it. Still have a bunch to do on it. like bumpers and a flatbed.

damn id think supercharged and gettin ~18 mpg would be doing really well. on my way to moab i get about 20-21 n/a of course

 

I think we finally switched back to summer gas a while back, so my mileage has been getting better. I don't really care what it is, but it's nice to know what it realistically gets for road trips coming up. I've done a lot of maintenance in preparation. Next I will rebuild the injectors with this little kit I bought off ebay.

 

That's not fair. I'm getting 16

 

Look at mine, I'm fairly close to stock also (1.5" lift front, 2.5" lift rear, and 265/75 tires)

 

Since I bought my Tacoma 2 months ago I have only been home for a little over a week of that time. So, today I checked out the 4x4 and took her on the beach. She did great and the sand was very soft and deep. No air out of the tires either.
8 miles there and back.

I've be en looking at doing a trip down to Fort Fisher. We went fishing at Kure Beach last year and rode down there in my buddy 4 Dr JK. Very nice place.

 

Yeah, because of no lift.... I thought sliders would be a wise investment

 

Got some pics w/ the bed rack removed. I think it looks like a whole new truck! I really like the way I ended up ratchet strapping my spare.



Also got some pics of the plastic I used to cover the intake tube/line the inside of the fenders.

 

Ouch, I have a similar mark on the passenger side.
