    Thanks bud!

Spent the past few days sanding on and off. I was being a perfectionist but soon realized it's a trail truck... so I quit worrying about feathering all the rock chips and chipping paint and just scuffed everything up. Laid the first coat down today. Going to try and do one more, then pick up some more flat clear and finish it up tomorrow.

Close up of the color. It darkens up a little after the clear goes on though

So am I! It's going to be one of a kind where I live. I can't wait to get it done and roll it out in the sun for the first time :D

I know the feeling! I've always wanted one of these and saw this pop up on craigslist and the rest is history haha.

So :jellydance: I would really love to come across one too I absolutely love the trucks! My brother has an 87 bone stock and mint condition but it's nowhere near as cool looking as the precious years

Are you painting engine bay and all inside cab too?

Yeah these are by far my favorite body style! And as far as paint, hell no haha. Wayyyy too much work for a beater. I may do the door jambs eventually because I'm sure seeing red every time I get in and out might get on my nerves a little.

Yeah half doors are awesome. I plan on making some as soon as I can find another set of doors locally

Keep an eye on the Greenville SC Craig's list. I have seen a bunch of early 80's parts on there.

That's a long ass drive for some doors though..

Thanks! I would have to agree :D

Came across a deal on a welder. It's a Hobart 175. Came with the cart, 10lb spool of .030, and an almost full tank. Hopefully my buddy can swing by this week and get my 220 plug wired.
