Congrats on your recon sticker. I was very relieved when I got mine.

Really? Was it a 2j or 7m? I hated the na 2j. My brother has a sc300, had to take off intake manifold just to get to the plugs... I guess the 1gr is the same way.. PITA...

I've got to work on a couple supras. Fun car but if just feels like a truck. Sometimes I regret not getting one when I had the chance. Passed on a 1jz sc300 and took this supra home for a couple days. Couldn't do it. It did look great in my parking stall, though.

I am dreading getting the new safety check sticker. For some odd reason, it bugs the hell out of me that the recon sticker and the safety are different sizes! I am going to have to trim down the recon sticker to match it.

    I had a 7mge in my '91.

Got it cheap on base with a blown head gasket, fixed it all up and had Ted's overhaul the head. Ended up sitting on it for 2.5 years only putting on maybe 400 miles before selling it to a friend of a friend. He still drives it most days, so i'm happy it's seeing the road.

I'd rather work on an I-6 over the 1-GR anyday :p

My Celica is a 97, not an all-trac yet, but now that my truck is pretty much done, I can finally start on rebuilding the 3sgte motor I have waiting to go in :D

Ryan, I agree... Whoever came up with the dimensions of these damn stickers didn't go to school! Honestly, they could probably care less as to what they look like (Bastards). The size mismatch bothers me as well (OCD..:D) Doesn't look like it can be trimmed without chopping off the Hawaii part or the serial number. Maybe could trim just a gnats ass, but not enough to make it look good. We're F'ked:(

Used to match the old safety sticker perfect! What bothers me more is they put mine on crooked! I got to stick on the safety though :)

    Nate...welcome to the OCD thread...:D

At least you made a bracket for yours. Mine is on the bumper, so when I get a new bumper...I'm fucked...

I just noticed doing the Math that I'm 31 recon's ahead of you...

Quick! before it gets too old, hit it with a blow dryer, and you can gently pull it up and reset it. Remember to pull evenly or it'll stretch and look deformed. Then I'd take a razor and score it to deter thieves, since a recon sticker is so hard to get these days! As for the bracket, I'd use security hardware or rivets so its not easily stolen. Or you could weld it to your new bumper...

I don't think I'm OCD, one look around my apartment says otherwise. Its just that it could have been done right the first time! I mean, how hard is it to put a sticker on straight?

I was thinking about peeling it up, but that would suck if it tears. Maybe I'll give it a look..

That thing is locked down with 4 3/8-16 bolts. I have security nuts, but need to replace the bolts with security torx.

I have the dimensions, but it'll cost you one tank bracket

Makes me a little jelly. I never got to drive a mk4. Almost had a chance to buy my coworkers one before he sold it to this other guy at work who ruined it.

Would love to have one some day...preferably un-raped :)
