Thanks!! I have heard that the trails in Eglin are pretty narrow, and the FJ is basically the opposite of that.
I am spending some time and (more) money on the miata soon before I do anything to the FJ, but I feel like it will be good to take it out stock so I can get the feel for this. Once I start modding it, I'm thinking a lift will be first, then probably wheels and tires. After that, I saw a front bumper that I liked with a built in winch. That would probably be the next mod.

As far as the meet this month, I am pretty much not free other than the weekend of the 23rd-24th.
Cant the weekend of mothers day 10th and 11th, cant the next weekend (going out of town) 16th and 17th and cant the last weekend 31st.

    Fjbruiser,
FJ's are awesome. Can't wait to see you on the trail with us. Just be leary of the puddles around here. They can be really deep.

I ended up going over to the power lines last night after I got off work for a little bit. I am extremely impressed with the FJ as of now. I didnt even have to put it in 4 wheel drive once, granted there was a lot of water and I wasnt willing to attempt most of it because there was no telling how deep it was. But there were still some spots where I thought I was going to need it, but no. FJ just plowed through haha. Its like driving a tank...
I cant wait until I get a lift and some bigger tires. I need to get some gear first. I have a come along, and I need to get a heavy duty strap or two and some chain. Anything else that you can think of to get me started as far as gear goes?

oh yes, you chose a good rig they are very nice:D winch is a must, sliders/hi lift, shackles, recovery straps, id also invest in a come along and maybe if you wanted to throw some money at it, those recovery board things. this is pretty much what I have been procrastinating to buy, a bunch of recovery gear and I have like 1 or 2 of the things I SHOULD have lol

    these: http://www.4wheelparts.com/Winches-...ds.aspx?t_c=18&t_s=190&t_pt=9592&t_pn=S/B2790

PLEASE by the love of god, if you do decide to go through the water, check how deep they are lol, we've already have had one instance with water and not checking how deep it was

Alright guys, I made the executive decision that our next meet will be the weekend of Friday 23rd to Sun 25th. FJbruiser, Alfuh, and Biskit have already said they can make it those days, so if anyone else can go, let me know and I will update the OP as necessary. I really look forward to this.

If I'm not in class I'll be pushing to leave early. But since it's like a 3 hour drive, it may not be worth while for you to drive all the way out just to drive back. Friday probably won't have a lot of wheeling anyway. Mostly setting up camp and stuff.

Sounds great! Let us know what you find! Try to mark them on a map. I printed one off so I would like to mark up on it where we should go.

Too bad man. Next time. And thanks. Just need my 09 back so I can armor this bad boy.

    Lol that sounds about right.

Im stoked! I will be getting off work Friday around 5 before Im able to head out. Ill also try and get some recovery gear before this trip also. Some basic stuff, but I would imagine it will help.

Welcome back to the land of the driving. Like the new wheels. You'll enjoy all the extra room. The longer wheelbase makes for a smoother ride. Should look good in armour.

I went out to Tates Hell all I could find there was long well keep dirt roads and two lane trails nothing exciting:( but I did do some driving in apalachicola forest and found one decent trail (125d) . What type of trails are you guys looking for. I know a nice camping spot in Tate's hell I think it is 10$ a night to use it and it's on the river

Thanks man. I look forward to making this truck look mean. Although, my new place only has a one car garage... Might have to plan on doing the mods somewhere bigger

Can you let us know if we can reserve some spots or if it's first come first serve? Thanks
