You don't want to own two of the same vehicle.

I used to have 2 of the same car. I ended up using the older one as a parts car every time I needed something for the newer one. The older one was a perfectly good running car.

Speaking of that, why haven't you gotten a set of real tires for that thing yet? In the pictures you've posted recently you've had streeties on it.

255/80/17 Cooper ST Maxx are next. I love the mileage I get with my stock tires, but I want bigger M&S rated tires

At this point in time not really, thanks though. Just wishful thinking for an 03 V8 sport in green

They're awesome tires. Maybe one day they'll put out a 295/75r16.

Yeah I'm definitely not buying domestic. Might get a Ferd if Mike's doesn't spontaneously combust! But Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Ram? NO way! :locked:

So far, the only 'issues' I have with it are a squeeky belt when it's cold and wet, first thing in the morning and a rattle in my driver's side door. The rattle is my window button panel not being tight. I just haven't been able to get it back to Ford to let them take care of both items. It hauls very well and I'm over 18 MPG which I'm extremely happy about.

Still skeptical about the Ecoboost... And with the mileage I'm getting with the V8, I wouldn't get one now even if I were looking for a new truck.

I agree about Dodge. I briefly considered them but then my cousin's Ram puked a tranny at 40k miles and that sort of confirmed my suspicions that they were still junk. They ride and drive a lot better than they used to though.

If I had to pick which truck I'd want for the "end of the world" I'd probably have to pick my Dodge over my Tacoma.
Believe it or not, the 30 year old slant six in my Dodge fires up faster than the Tacoma does. Doesn't even make a complete revolution before she's running.

That rattle would drive me insane!

And I drove a 2013 ram. Cheapest feeling vehicle I've ever sat in!

Yes but, I'd be willing to bet that if you had to pick a vehicle made within the last 5 or even 10 years it wouldn't be a Dodge. For an end of the world truck, I'd take an old Ford with the 300 inline 6.
The rattle isn't bad and I usually have my hand on it anyways. It doesn't rattle all the time otherwise I'd have fixed it myself by now. It's only on really chopped up roads. For normal driving, that thing is very, very quiet. I would have never called the Tacoma cab loud, but there is a really big difference between the Taco and the Ford (Ford being much, much quieter).

I wouldn't pick ANY vehicle made in the last 5-10 years for an end of the world truck, haha! Give me an old lump of iron any day for that sort of thing.

I can't say I'd argue with you about that one... Vehicles just aren't built the way they used to be and certainly aren't as easy to work on.

Yup. A buddy of mine hit a deer with his '09 GMC a couple of weeks ago and it destroyed his front end. New bumper, grill, headlights, hood, both fenders, radiator, radiator support, air dam, fender trim pieces. Basically everything forward of the doors except for the engine and the suspension.
And he was only doing about 35 when it happened. Crazy.
