Ok, so...what's the smallest amount of lift I could get without trimming too much to make these fit...

...but seriously, your truck makes these tires look tiny. Like in the picture below. I can only imagine the "pictures don't do it justice" thing. Still very impressed.

    ...found your spare btw... :D

At least they didn't pick 'SCOUT PARTS AMERICA!!!!!'

Dunno why they didn't pick you over the Bronco Willys Scout or Blazer, especially the willys - dana 30. The Power Wagon and the Scambler would have been a tough choice though.

    Maybe next year!

Yep, some things are just more important than the UA :D

Me too! I wanted to represent for sure!

Is it the 40's or my daughter, lol?

    I am too :(

I will try once more, that's it.

No Toyotas again this year and once again multiple jeeps. My own fault though, if I had a Jeep I woulda been in however...I wouldn't own a Jeep if it was given to me free.

Their magazine, their rules. I am glad I made it this far!

Thanks! I hate not having a spare tire! And yeah it does look better in person :p

I have decided it's easier to just not question the why so-and-so made it etc. and roll with the flow. For whatever reason my truck just didn't fit with their plan for this years run. Maybe they want vehicles that will break down lol. Just kidding though, some of the ones picked were exactly who I'd hoped would go, some well...not so much.

I hope everyone that goes has an awesome time, and if they don't they should have given me their seat!

Meh, life goes on. There are way more important things in life than this trip, although it would definitely have been fun, I am sure I can find something fun to do this summer regardless.

Well even though I didn't make the UA, I still have a few things to get done to the truck to get ready for wheeling season. My buddy Eric was available for the weekend so he graciously offered to help me get some things done:D

Got the Hydro assist ram "guard" installed and painted:

    20140503_110216_zpsb7d0c9b8_379c9e9ec4ed6772a8bdf2581b8c927f2517fc58.jpg

Threw a reinforcing strap on the upper link mount as well:

    20140503_110224_zps4560b645_c0d1e243d1af446471b3f2b78d9672ce8c79f700.jpg

    20140503_132151_zps15fc9bcf_98a4cd9a9af8e406e921fc94c01f9268c4b79ade.jpg

    20140503_132144_zps4131db79_924e0b30e7d299765cfd9e1bee0ebfc681fa7c4d.jpg

Then moved on to the back.

    20140503_223004_zpsb7b3773e_1fb0b75d23948eccb91f52943d98aba95d412071.jpg

Some clean-up on the axle tubes and factory plug welds:

    20140503_223010_zps946b62b7_31349275b8ecf138c406f63d1fbdcd4f9af368e6.jpg

Welded up the axle tubes, and finished welding the factory plug welds. Apparently I was rough on this axle, lol. After two wheeling trips I broke most of the factory plug welds which hold the axle tubes in. The solution was to weld the tubes to the center section, grind what we could, and weld up all the factory plug welds.

Did you preheat, post heat and use special wire or no? I'm going to do both of my axles soon here.
