V6 Badge with L4 Engine

    Hi everyone:

    I'm Confuse; I have a friend at Work that Bought a 2013 Prerunner Tacoma. This Tacoma have a V6 Badge but when you open the hood Have the L4 Engine on it.

    What I notice is that the V6 Badge is different than those on V6 Engine Models but Why is this? Or this V6 Badge mean something else.

    Somebody swapped the tailgate
    Maybe his was stolen
    Maybe an accident and that's what they replaced the tailgate width
    Maybe somebody had a bad sense of humor and added the badge

    No they stated that is was a L4 but didn't explain about the badge.

    It's just a badge if the truck is sound and there is No suspect for accidents I wouldn't worry about it and remove it with a heat gun

    If its a prerunner its a v6..

    if its an inline 4 then the badge was bought at autozone by someone trying to compensate something

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    Make sure you are actually looking at the engine. The V6 engine cover says "4.0" and some people think that means its a 4 cylinder.

    I know how to count cylinders. no 4.0 under the hood because the L4 does not have a plastic cover Like the V6 you see the valve cover. But if you see the badge it is not the standard V6 Badge of Toyota looks more like Mazda V6 Badge.
