    Did you CAD this or is it all as you go? Just wondering if you planned everything you want to put in it, measured all the parts and pieces ahead of time (i.e. - stove, water storage, propane, tent, etc) or just winging it so to speak.

    Well done! If I 'just went for it', I'd be on probably my 3rd or 4th iteration and probably had to do a complete tear down and start from scratch at least twice :eek:

    I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
    They will be bumped and strapped I'm not the least bit worried and if it's ever an issues the bags are $67.99 each shipped. And the trailer will never be at "high speeds" off road I'm building a expo/camping trailer not a baja racing trailer. The only thing I would be worried about would be a stick or tree taking out one of the bags when crawling with it. I'll have a spare in the trailer just in case.

    Oh well yeah, I guess if you wanted all your stuff tossed around in a box for a while. I'd be interested in seeing the difference between a solid axle and Jerry's trailing arms. That looked like a lot of stress on the frame, I'd be worried of the trailer flipping over at those speeds.

    Would it be possible to put some sort of shield piece around the airbags and build the bumpstops into that? Maybe have flat fixed pieces covering the front and inside, and have a third hinged piece to give access on the rear that can be latched shut.

    Not if I want to keep all the travel. They have 9" of travel there is no say I could fit a 9" gaurd at bump.

    Yeah i think it's more work then it's worth. Being as cheap as they are and about 5min to 10min to swap them out I'm not too concerned.
