why do you guys say that (curious as to your reasoning)? versatility? newness? less aggressive? nakedness? low-end vs. high-end power? flatter torque curve? triple vs i-four?

For the money, wouldn't you rather just have a new bike? Again, go with the yamaha :)

I didn't do any reasearch on either bike but at first glance, looks-wise the Yamaha is super different. Almost like a street bike and a supermoto made a very sexy baby. With a couple mods that could be an even sicker bike. I'm a Honda guy but if I were choosing between the 2 i'd go with the Yamaha.

Power wise IMO anything over 800cc's on the street you'll have more than enough power so idk if i personally could justify a 1000cc sportsbike. Don't get me wrong i like my giddy-up :D

Also even though the CBR only has 60 miles on it. I would be replacing the tires before I even drove it off the lot. Those tires are a soft compound and are going on 7 years old.

I've never really been a huge fan of the "mellow" sports bike style but Yamaha did it right with that bike. Very nice looking, and considering you'd be paying just a few hundred more for something brand new off the floor i'd go for it. CBR's are nasty mofo's so i can definitely see why you're torn.

If you buy the CBR your going to spend a couple hundred on replacing the tires. Did some research and the rule is 6 years shelf life or on the bike regardless of miles.

Get the Yamaha and also get piece of mind with a factory warranty out the door.
