    they don’t happen and are not as bad as the news makes they out.. I heard the latest guy was just waving a gun around on the side of I-40 and not even shooting at people.


    and if you think the shooting are bad lot more people get stabbed than shot.

    edit: and probably more than half the shooting are just drug deals gone bad.

    Our news is pointless. It's only bad stuff. People being killed. That's it. Its fuckin retarded. My step dad got in a bike wreck Tuesday night and broke 5 ribs and his ankle and he went to the Med, aka downtown ER, and waited for 6 hours before a Dr could see him to give him pain medicine because right when he got there they brought in 2 shot police officers. It's just common. As sad as it sounds to say, I don't really care about someone getting killed or shot because it's not "breaking news". It's just normal, everyday news. No different then house fires and interstate construction. No one cares unless it's your family member

    Jerry also owns a fab shop though. Most of the fabricators that are vendors know there shit. not trying to be an ass.... and if you ever have a chance you should pick up a couple aws welding books. I've been reading a couple for 4 months now. Plan on taking my certified welding inspector test this fall...

    and i agree. it’s sad it happens so much, but people die everyday from all kinds of stuff. car wrecks, killing them self, stabbings. drugs, no one really cares unless it’s family or a friend.

    the other day when that guy was waving the gun around on i-40 than barricaded him self in a house. at one point they thought someone els maybe or was in the house(not sure, never followed up on it really) but people keep saying just set the house on fire and blow it up with him in it. and that he should never get a court date and we should just hang him. imho everyone is going to say that till a family member or close friend dose some crime and than they are going to try and say that they are not that kinda person.

    Which aws books do you have? Which certs do you have? Only ones I have are 045 hw vertical up, over head and horizontal. Wanna take my test for 6010 all position but we don't use stick at our fab shop

    I remember stick welding in school and passed all my bend test but never went to get certified. Then started working with mig and didn't touch a stick welder in 4-5 years and damn near forgot how to do it haha

    Passing X-ray is pretty easy. Just don't get nervous like I did the first time, god I failed miserably.

    That info should be in your aws book... Also when you buy the metal you can look into what all it was made of. % of carbon nickel and all that and in the aws book it will give you the info on which wire/rods you should use to increase the strength

    Wear plenty of clothing and possibly coveralls when I did it all I had was a long sleeve shirt and I caught fire within the first 3 inches of welding in that position, also have a good amount of scares on my chest from it...

Its funny, you praise me in the midtravel thread for the advise and help I give, but the minute I give you a piece of advise in the welding thread, all the sudden you're just another 20 year old who knows everything and I'm just an internet fabber.
