You're avi is the Alaska State Flag and your screen name is "907Yoda". Certainly snow in May is not a mystery to you. You're in South Dakota, not Florida; guess you need to go farther south, or east to the coast, or west to the coast? ;)

Yeah, my body isn't too happy with me right now. Did manage about 6 hours of sleep last night though

Ok I'm clueless. Snow in the lower 48 in May? Not really cool at all.

Good luck on the test man & those NASTY f'n Red Bulls. Taste like cough syrup from when I was a kid to me. I will say some of the Red Bull toys are nice!

Of course I been awake since 6:30am and have to work midnights tonight...over it all ready.

    Thanks Rob.

Yes, it was a really nice visit.

He now has a job offer here to start ASAP as a crew lead doing residential & commercial wiring on new, remodel & build outs, so it's a matter of turning in his two week notice in Indiana. He's thinking his current boss will just tell him to get lost so it might be as early as this weekend or a few weeks.

His plan is to move here & attempt to get into an apprentice program but, if that fails to happen before this fall then start at the local Tech school. If he gets the apprenticeship he'll quit his electrical work and do that if he goes to school he plan to take night classes.

Even though, it would have been easier all around had he done it before marriage (he'd be done with school by now) I'm happy as a pig in shit that he's taking the step. Now it's just a matter of keeping him focused on the goal. I'm hoping the last few years of financial struggle has made him see the light....if not I guess he's got more beans and white bread coming his way.

Red bull does hook me up with some pretty awesome stuff. Just not enough Red Bull. I have 5-hour energy's I can break into if I really need it.

Your son buying a place or are they gonna stay with you for the time being?

For the time being they'll be staying with me...him, his wife & baby. On the bright side, they will be doing ALL the home chores.

My parents are at their house in Indiana with my sisters help now. They're thinking they will be staying in Indiana now and will just visit here on occasion...I told my son, due to my parents health, that if they need to move back full time again he may either have to live in my travel trailer or I'd help him get a place for cheap locally. Houses outside of Oxford are extremely affordable (like some for $10 or $15k) but need lots of work even though they are livable. I really think, with his sweat & my help, it could turn into a decent investment. Does that make me an ass? Really? (Feel free to chime in with opinions) I don't know. He had plenty of opportunity to take care of what he should have before my parents health declined and I'm not moving them to a nursing home.

Like we discussed he'll find his way. And he's realized you were right (my interpretation) all on his own. Which means he'll apply himself and appreciate the results more. And a wife and kid give him more reason to succeed.

On the second part ... It in NO WAY makes you an ass. You're not saying you'll kick them out in the street. My guess is he understands completely and is thankful for your support and guidance now. It'll all work out.

That in no way makes you an ass. Hell, you're willing to help him get his own place to stay

Rob, how old are your kids?

Thanks guys, between the two if you I have a perspective from both sides. Being solo, I sometimes question if I'm being too easy or too hard on him. Hard to believe I still struggle making certain decisions at this point in my life...my 30 year high school reunion is coming up fast, you'd think it'd be easy by now.

On a less serious note, I'm loving the 4Runner. I decided to wash & wax it this morning and it looks good (at least I my eyes). I've filled it for a second time and my calculation agrees with the on board MPG meter at about 20mpg.

Washed, waxed, interior detailed & in the barn.
