Went to the dealership this morning to pick up some oil filters for my 08 Tacoma. They gave me the smaller ones unbeknownst to me. The ones I have seen people using are the oversized.

Worth returning the 5 I got for the oversized filters? Thanks

    back to bone stock.
They both fit and work. Most run the. "D" for the greater capacity.

NAPA 1516. It isn't listed at NAPA as fitting the Tacoma, but it is nearly identical in size to the Toyota YZZD3. (Still haven't cut one open to compare).

I was told by a dude that studies oil viscosity and breakdown, to use Purolator One filters. Cant remember his title but like a chemist. They are one of few that have fiberglass packing instead of paper.. I think fram makes one too. Maybe the tough guard. Not sure. He also said the Wix brand was a good filter.

The G1 fits my '96 Tacoma 3.4L. My wife's '04 4Runner 4.0L runs the D3. If you have the 4.0, you should use the D3.
