Trying to decide which to get for my 97 4WD. Wondering which do you guys recommend? Thinking of getting the font bumper without the hoops.

I have the allpro front and rear bumpers and i like them. I bent the front bumper, but i was trying to bump over a boulder and fell off and it took all the impact and it would have messed up any bumper. I thought those side hoops were pretty cheesy and was going to cut them off, but they save the fenders alot and act as a slider, definately keeping them! I have recently hi clearence my rear end and have cut the sides off the all pro bumper and i am prepareing to add some sqaure tube tight against the body, but the bumper has served me well!! I have the trail gear sliders and have beat on those pretty good, perfect price for what you get.

    Pics are in my sig.

I already commented on this over on ExPo and it went south so I'll stay out of it over here.

    Both are good.

However, with allpro front bumper, you can only get allpros front skid. Won't fit a budbuilt or skidrow.

With the tube front bumpers, any concerns about getting rocks and such up into your lower radiator or radiator tank?

More-so with the All-pro version. With the trailgear and a stock skid plate, my radiator is fully protected. bonus protection can be had by upgrading the skid plate to something aftermarket.

Speaking of skids, how are the AP skids compared to others? I like the design of them.

Are your procomps 8"? APs website says only 6" lights will fit in the hoop.

That's a good point about the front skid. Just noticed in cbassd pics that the radiator is exposed a lot more.

I have been wheeling with the all pro front bumper and skids since 2005 and zero damage to radiatior and i have wheeled on some knarly rock strewn trails. The skid works as advertised, i have slammed down on top of it and its wrinkled and bent to hell and it does the job.

Just get whatever makes you happy. They all end up beat up and bent after being abused on the trail, followed shortly by rust.

Personally I think the All Pro offers excellent protection (no way the radiator is getting damaged with the bottom hoop/skids and anybody who says it will is a serious web wheeler) but is ugly as sin. Depends on your priorities, form>function or function>form.

I don't like the protection for the radiator from the all pro bumper it's not enough but I will add more protection soon to the radiator :D

Yes I have 8" pro comps I just can't point them down only straight or facing up,, they can move left to right slightly but I just keep them pointed straight :D

This and other posts largely answered my question but I was more referring to the highway to and from the trail. Up here, the potholes give plenty of ammunition for the car tires..
