I hate VW engineering. I just spent the better part of my day (since 4:30, it is now 12:45) R&R both front axles, clutch assembly and flywheel, Timing chain, and the dog bone. What a ROYAL PAIN IN THE ASS! I still have to replace the transmission, and finish up the timing chain, along with installing the new axles. Putting it all back in should be much easier, but fuckin a that transmission is one serious bitch to remove.

If I would have realized it was going to be such a fiasco, I would have removed the engine and life would have been much easier. Especially for the timing chain.

Anyone looking to do this (2001 VW GTI VR4), I would highly recommend steering yourself away.

I don't know what the audio is like... they eventually ruled it a catch, but down on the 1/2 yard line, so ignore the incomplete and touchdown signals you see the refs making. Also, the flag was defensive pass interference, so you can ignore that, too. The play counted.

I hate the fact that I booked an appointment to have my 5100's installed tomorrow, but dont have the money to pay for the install because of stupid payments coming out of my bank account
