    Humph.
Gloating about playing hooky from work for an hour to have a beer isn't much fun if there's nobody around to resent you for it.

Any of you guys have any good ideas on how to remake a camper table? My parents have a camper with one of those cheap tables that drops down to make an extra bed. The table is cheap plastic crap and they'd like to see if there are other ideas for a table. Any ideas?

Take it to a place that does counter tops and have them make one for you.
Glue a piece of 1/4 inch plywood to the bottom to reinforce it for the hardware from the old piece.
Salvage the hardware from the old one and install it on the new top, then install the new top where the old one was.
    :notsure:
Dunno it it's an option or not; never replaced an RV table before.

I guess I should have added more information to my post. They contacted a place about having it replaced with Corian and they wanted $1,700 for the table and a small side strip, no installation included. They're looking to do away with the cheap top and replace it with something nicer. Standard countertop sections aren't wide enough for the table. I was just looking for creative and cost effective options.

Check prices on star board. It's a plastic board that's pretty strong. My dad replaced the teak boards on his boats swim platform with it.

What are the dimensions on the table?

Thanks, I'll check it out. Never heard of it before.
Hell yeah, go B's! That was a pretty awesome game. Good to see the Bruins playing well again.

It's 26 or 27 inches deep and I don't remember the other dimension but I think it's along the lines of 36 - 40". Then the side piece is tiny, it's only about a foot deep and about 4' long.

At the risk of asking the obvious, have they gone to a building supply store, either big box or locally-owned, to see about having something besides Corian custom-cut?
We replaced our entire kitchen counter with laminated countertop for around $600 from a local building supply company (Hammond Lumber)

No, but there's a good reason why. The plastic table is really light. I know there are a ton of options like stone, quartz, etc. but they'd all weigh a ton. That's why I was asking about creative options, thinking outside the box. I think the simpliest way to go would be to have something made up from hardwood, just like a normal table top but if we can think of something else that's lightweight and durable, we'd consider going that route instead.

I did some looking, that Star Board stuff seems pretty interesting.

Well yeah, stone's some heavy sh*t. We installed a quartz unit at a guy's place when I was working for a building contractor, and lifting that sucker into place just about killed us.
But laminate weighs about the same as Corian does, and it's typically a lot cheaper.

That StarBoard stuff does look pretty neat, though.

Doesn't that suffer from a certain lack of rigidity? I thought that it tended to droop over time.

Depends on thickness. You could try Delran but it's kinda pricy
