Best mpg yet for 2014 TRD V6

I average 20.5 doing 60 - 70 on hwy to work except in the winter. Drove to OK 2 weeks ago doing 80 and it dropped to 18.

 

Best was 19.3 that 80% highway @ 70-80mph and 20% city stop and go. It was probably a little higher but I "topped off" yes I won't be doing that anymore learning about the charcoal filter and all. Worst was 14. Today on the interstate I was averaging 23ish according to my Scan Gauge II.

 

50-55 wow, thats is super slow. normal freeway traffic around me is 70+ even doing 65 your almost a danger to others. I cant imagine doing 50 on the freeway...

 

I think you are asking me... I run reg. 87 my tank normally gets me between 340 to 375 miles depending on how long the gas light is on for. I want to say the most I have recorded was over 400 miles on a tank and that was 19 and change gallons when I fill up. I commute about 55 miles a day and then I use my truck on the weekend where ever we go. I have notice better mpg after my first oil change tho.

 

Just grabbed 23.7mpg over about a 550mi stretch with cruise set at 65mph.... in my TRD OR DCSB V6 Auto 4x4 bone stock.

I will confess this was from tahoe to home in ventura which is all downhill

 

I gots a DCLB, all stock (245s). When I challenge myself to get good mileage, I go about 62 mph and the best mileage I have gotten was 24.1.

Yup. Very conservative with the skinny pedal. My commute is 35 miles each way (95% on the highway). I leave for work early and can go slow and never touch the brakes the whole way to and from work.

Takes a very disciplined driver and gotta anticipate stops really early.

 

I believe it. Couple summers ago I drove from Boston to Algonquin Park, ON keeping the cruise control under 65mph and got 22.7mpg(10.4L/100km) running on 265's. Could see how the lower rolling resistance on the 245's could add up if driving all highway w/ cruise control.

I find I get better mileage without cruise. I find cruise gear hunts too much and that affects MPG.

I average about 22 when I drive normally at 70.

 

Yea, I don't have 4x4, 270/75/17s, or a lift.

2WD. No 4x4 components to push?
With the 245's on my truck my best was 23.5mpg on a trip, with a 4x4. 24.1 doesn't seem beyond the realm of possibility...
Or is it a language barrier thing?

Yeah, but how much carpentry stuff is typically littering the inside of your truck?

 

Nothing wrong with saving gas. But these "Hyper Milers" on interstates are almost as dangerous as Drunk Drivers. Not using the brakes to slow down, going 50-55 mph. It's very dangerous to do that and not really worth the hassle.
