Speaking like jar-jar should get you an immediate flogging and lifetime ban, not just from TacomaWorld, but all things in general, such as eating.

Me either (though there's not much under there on mine) but you don't have to go ride with the intent of breaking something. There's tons of modest trails up there. Mine is not a crawler at all. I'm open/open on 32s.

Really? I found very few modest trails. It was either a glorified gravel road or a fairly serious trail, IMO. I'd personally want armor to go to windrock and expect to have fun.

I've personally never been, but have talked to lots of people with rigs very similar to mine who go up there and ride without killing their trucks and they claim to do challenging trails.

Challenging is a relative term though. Many guys on here don't wanna go to Choccolocco because they aren't "ready" but I've went up almost every trail in a stock truck. The only ones I can make a the extreme crawler type trails. Now did some of those scare me? Heck yeah, I though I may die and it might have took several tries but I haven't attempted any trail, besides one (ill make it up it with these new tires), and not made it.

I think I'll have fun at Windrock. I'll try about anything within reason and I don't have enough pride that I can't back down from something that'll hurt me or my truck.

Not saying you shouldn't go, just that I found it to not have a whole lot of trails inbetween "way too easy" and "huge boulders on at least one part of the trail". I also only went once. I'm sure you'll have fun, especially if you're with guys who knows the park. Just watch out for tight trails where you can't wuss out because you can't turn around!

It definitely also depends how worried you are about damaging bodypanels - maybe you're less concerned on an '81 than mat in an '05. I'm sure your truck can get through a whole lot if pinstripes and dents don't matter...

Anyway, if I do finally get a trail machine together this summer I may legitimately hit you up - I don't like going with my friends up here, they're crazy.

Yeah I know what you mean.

And that is true, but I refuse to accept any damage it's happened one because I wasn't paying attention. I'm too picky for that crap. Lol I might be a little more worried in an 05 though.

Also, worth mentioning that my buddy's stepson only had to take a chicken trail once when he went with them in a no-armor, mildly lifted and tired XJ. No apparent damage. They're all nuts though.

I'm worried about body panels and everything, but mainly worry about the underneath. Punch a hole in one of the pans or diffs and I'm screwed. I can deal with pinstriping because I have a white truck and it barely shows up. (Depending on the depth) I also have a leveling kit which doesn't give me much ground clearance. Ask Brian and Justin about that! Lol

See that gives me hope because I feel every bit as capable as a mild XJ (say 4" and 33s) and I feel like my truck can take more of a beating. If you only knew how many D30s I've seen broken in the last 6 months at Choccolocco and Morris Mtn.

I want sliders before I go and maybe a winch + bumper. If some how I'm able to afford it, I'll be regeared with a spartan before then also.
