Can't say for certain, since it is still 3 months away, but I hope he will still be able to join us - either with a new rig or as a passenger.

Bringing this back up. I like the idea of delegating certain duties. I'm more than willing to take on multiple roles here (since, currently, it looks like there will only be a few passengers total). So I think we should start planning or thinking about these items as well.

I plan on bringing my 3 little guns. A great makeshift target is a disposable bottle (water, Gatorade, soda) filled with water. Bullets still go through, they don't cost any extra, and when they are more holes than plastic, they still get recycled or thrown away the same.

Another thing to consider is that where we are going is likely to not have phone service, including data for those with smart phones. It may be a good idea to have actual hard copy maps with us as well. I will see if I can locate a Thomas Brothers Guide for this area.

Matt, delegation of duties to passengers I don't think needs to happen yet as we aren't set as to who all is coming as driver or passenger. This is something that can also be taken care within a week of the trip when people are more solidified for who is coming and what role.

Seth, am I seeing you as a passenger here as well?

While this isn't me making decisions, I am okay with Joe being out there with his dogs and no passengers. That would make 5 drivers, and including Seth, 4 passengers. Put 1 passenger in each truck, and Joe can have Lucy ride shotgun. I would say this is more to Ben/Mike as the brain trust to decide.

I also have (5) laminated copies of the maps/trails that we will be exploring. The Owl Mountain trail is not on here, b/c it is way North of the others.

What is wrong with purple paper? Also when will you seal the deal and marry the lady? If you aren't careful, I may get my wife to sign bigamy papers, and make a move on her...jk

All this planning is getting me all hot and bothered for some wheeling, especially this trip of going into the unknown. Also, Will and I are going to do some pre exploration later this month in the general area. We can make a stop by the ranger station to say hi and thanks to Nancy as well.

 We are a unique couple, man; been together almost 12 years (in July) and neither of us has felt the need to sanctify it with a marriage document - regardless of how much pressure and/or disapproval we get from others.

Thanks dudes. I'm all about planning and executing so if that would F things up, no problem. I would bring my girlfriend Sarah, but wouldn't bring all 3 dogs, probably only 1. So I would say at the very least I'd have room for gear, maybe a passenger or two. I'd like to make this trip because that is really the only part of the state I haven't explored so that would be cool. And again I'd like to drive because of the dog and RTT.

Since the wife wants new appliances I get to buy a transfer case skid and an Arb locker, and if I'm really lucky some icon air bumps.... Would be a perfect trip to utilize this stuff, or at least know I am more prepared heh

And I completely agree about safely, legally, shooting. Just wanted to make sure we are on the same page and so far it looks good!

Lazy bastard...I put it on the first post.

On the firearms, I of course would want to have a good location out wheeling, but also, there is an area behind my house that has been used for shooting. I had to get a feel for my Walther .40 and Henry .22 somewhere.

Cody, you thinking to be a passenger or driver? As it stands, I am pretty sure that Mike/Ben are looking to cap this at 5 vehicles.

Either way tbh, didn't have anything planned originally for the time.

I think at this point, you would probably be better off as a passenger than driver. This will also save you 1000+ miles on your truck. If you decide to fly over, I could pick you from the airport. That is only about 45 min drive at most from my house. Spokane airport is GEG on airline sites.
