While I'm very glad I did it, and it's been great not to need corrective lenses,....

That may have been one of the most horrifying experiences of my life.
Most things don't bother me, blood, broken bones, whatever but that.....

    Hope Kyle doesn't read this

...and I just posted in the upcoming events thread so I'll say that I'm interested in the latest run except that some Sundays are bad for me as it's race season and spring football season now

Could be really high this year, I would call the Sand Dunes NP ranger and get the latest info, I think their website gives the trail info as well.

You should be fine. Rio Grande is at 36% of 10 year average snowpack. Not a lot of moisture down there.

    What he said also

Hmmm, did not know that. I went on Memorial Day a few years back and the creeks were fine, I would guess during a normal snow year.

This probably belongs in the BS section but as someone asked

Medano only runs april-september. There was a forest fire so large storms make the area questionable for landslides and mass wasting. The creeks flow at a normal rate but only for a few months. They dry up in july in dry years.

Going to be in Fort Collins a week from today.

Got a buddy of mine down there who recently bought a '14 TRD OR (I was a bad influence). Anyone got any suggestions on where we can find him some moderate offroading?

I know I've heard you guys talk about the flood damange and things being closed...

I know some of you guys are running Yankee, but I'm guessing he won't want to drive down there.

The sand dunes may be a place to go. Not sure when it opens up. Not exactly typical colorado wheeling, but a cool place. It is still 2hrs away though. There is really nothing close that will probably be open by then. Sevenmile is usually the first place and would be perfect for a new stock taco but they are saying it is flood damaged.

Sevenmile isnt actually damaged from the flood. The problem is the Forest Service didn't really see what the trail looked like before the flooding and when they went to see it after they were expecting it to be a perfectly maintained road (prius grade lol) and it's not. People have photos of it a few days before the flooding happened so they are trying to use that to get it opened back up.
