I took the flaps off as soon as I got home from buying my Tacoma. So take your two week old Tacoma on the rest of the CK trail :D. I plan on taking it easy.

Decided to go ahead and run it alone. Will take it easy.

It's been a long time since I've done the CK trail. There was a rock ledge at one point that got a lot of trucks hung up. There was no way around it. Is it still there? I remember going over it in my Jeep and trying to spot some guys in a Dodge Dakota club. I got a couple of the guys over it and the last guy wouldn't listen to me and came down hard on the driver side rocker panel, hard enough that the driver door wouldn't open.

That hasn't changed. This weekend is quite difficult because of mother's day and everything

Are you talking about the back way to CK? If yes, I would not do that trail alone. Not because it is a technical trail, but it is way too looooooooooooooooong. I wouldn't enjoy that long of a trail by myself. But that's just me.

Are you still going today? I did the back way to CK some weeks back with a group of Jeeps and a few Toyotas. Although not a technical trail, there were some parts that were rough. Some guys that go there regularly stated the terrain has changed a lot over the past few years. You will need 4X4 for sure in some parts if you have street tires, and there are many parts where you will be glad If you have good ground clearance. It can be done with a stock truck for sure but with extra care.

It was a fun day for sure when we did it a few weeks back. Better to get an early start. Long trail!

Leaving in a few minutes. Still going. I'm taking the wife and kids with me so we'll just make a day of it and take it easy. I've got a lot of experience with trail running. I used to run with the AZVJC group almost every weekend when I had my jeep and I've done most of the well known trails in the Table Mesa and Florence areas. It would've been nice if some others wanted to go though. I figured today would've worked since Mother's Day is tomorrow. Oh well.

Success! Didn't have any troubles and was still able to run a few of the alternate lines. You just have to have good tire placement. Freaked the wife out a little on one of the first lines. I think it's the third hill and it goes off to the right and throws you off camber. Almost took out the drivers door on a rock on that one. Would not have been good. Did manage to rub the rear bumper on that one but no biggie. So let it be said, a stock, unlifted Tacoma can easily do CK without even so much as rubbing the underside of the truck. I only had a few small contacts with rocks on alternate lines.

We ran into a couple guys in 4runners and one tried the tough right line with the big hole and ledge at the top and high centered bad on the passenger rocker panel, no sliders

Pay no attention to the ugly driver ;)

That's awesome. Glad to hear you had a good time there and that your truck suffered no carnage. And you are right about that spot where that 4runner got some damage. I put a big dent on one of my rock sliders in that area:D O

I wish I could have been able to join, but this was not a good weekend for me. Please post in here next time you head up there. I would like to join. CK is always a good run.
