    How thick are the plates?

Are you welding the plates to an open edge or laying flat against the existing frame (like a doubler)? I know your welder will get into frame enough, just question how well it will get into the stiffening plates.

You may have to prep the plates with tapered edges.

Thanks brent, I'll look up the plates when I get home. I will lay it flat like a doubler

Remember to run short beads (about 2") and space them out. One bead on one end then go to the other end for the next, alternating sides and top/bottom. Work your way around the piece and then stitch them all together. This will help prevent any warping due to overheating one section.

Bevel the edges and if you're really worried plug weld in a pattern.

55w will kill your bulbs faster, 35w is the way to go IMO. Would also go for a 4200/4300k bulb

thanks man, did a little more research and I kept reading that so I went with the 35watt bulbs. Ended up going with the D2S kit, 35 watt 5k bulbs, 35 watt ballasts, h4 relay and orbit shrouds

Anyone going to the STARR MOTORS 7th ANNUAL OFFROAD DAY tomorrow (0930-1600)?

    Location: Starr Motors
    2584 Pruden Blvd, Suffolk, VA

I went last year and it was alright. There is a trail you can ride (costs money) and raffles. Mostly jeeps and RAV's (redneck assault vehicles). Let me know if interested.

If you have a meetup account, you can check it out here:
