That's why i changed the meet time to an hour later. That way people like you who are coming from farther away don't have to feel rushed. It will definitely be worth the drive!

Oh yeah for those camping if you feel the need to clean up, the Ranger Station has showers. Just pop in some quarters and your good to go. I've used them and it's very refreshing after a long day of riding and your butt is funkin!

i didnt read all the pages, but will there be two groups running?

reason i ask, the TTORA group listed is all Long Travel and they run race radios (HAM)

they might want to mob at a slightly quicker pace?

i have seen previous runs with a mix of LT and non LT trucks, and it can be a bit of work staying together, and keeping in touch with 3 different forms of communication...

As of now just one big group, but I have been thinking about making 2 possibly 3 groups depending on how big it gets and for that purpose that you just mentioned Mike. I was gonna bring this up later on when time gets nearer, but since you mentioned it then i might as well throw it out there and get opinions.

So what do you think one HUGE, MASSIVE group or 2? One for people who want to do light to moderate trails and one for people who want a quicker more gun-ho pace.

yah, its best to throw it out there...

there was a big TTORA run last year at Lucerne... had like 35 trucks on the desert prerunner trail, and there was a lot of bitching during and after the run due to those issues...

I think 2 might be better cause there are going to be different styles of off roading that people enjoy, so it might suck if you enjoy going fast but you're stuck on a technical trail or a slower person. The only probelm i for see with 2 groups is if you join one of the groups, and decide you don't like it for whatever reason and theb trying to switch to the other gorup and meet up might be a hassal.

there would actually be several groups...

    one 4x4 crawling group

one quick paced desert trail group

one cruising paced desert trail group

the trail groups can actually run the same trails, but put all the quicker paced drivers in one pack up front

Good ideas, but having it split that way on one trail can make it difficult. Reason being each group would have to wait for the other group. Faster paced guys take off then they have to wait for the 4x4 group and the cruising group, and while faster paced guys are waiting at one spot, lets say the 4x4 group sees some hills they wanna try and climb, then the cruising group and the faster paced group will all be waiting. And so on and so on.

So really the best most beneficial way would be having groups split off from each so they can do what they like, and not have to worry about waiting for others. I mean you will have to wait for others in the group you choose to go in, but that can be managed a lot easier.

    Make sense?

thats what i meant for the crawler guys...

for the desert trail guys, you can still have them run the same trails... the faster group doesnt have to wait, but with faster groups, there is a lot of stopping due to carnage, peeing, or otherwise B.S.ing...

what makes it hard is when you have LT trucks mixed in between non LT trucks...

unless you drive slow like me and Marnes...

    :D

    Gotcha!

Either way with a big group like this with different set ups it's going to be hard to keep track of everything and keep everyone satisfied. But like you said having groups like 4x4/Crawler, Prerunner/Cruise, and Gun-Ho/LT makes it easier and more satisfying to all involved.

It would have been nice to have everyone together chillin' out maxin', relaxing all cool, which was the purpose of the meet, but with the amount of people at this point that looks to be not possible.

So it's up to all you guys to decide what you want to do.
