That's what's screwed me... Stupid integrity. I should have just taken the other job and said bye bye. I hate to burn bridges though.

Usually, from my experiences so far, there really seems to be no official etiquette for hiring/leaving a job. I've worked with guys who packed up and left at the end of the day and never came back. I've also worked with guys who gave their "2 week notice" as a I'll stay here until this job site is complete (kind of my position because I have 3 jobs on the go right now that I have mostly been managing since my boss hurt himself).

As for hiring, most times it's come on as soon as you can. I've been delayed a couple of times to start a job because of normal stuff (job isn't ready, current project is just about to wrap up, or the contract fell through)

I have no experience with the union so I'm lost too lol

If I do that I may as well burn his trailer to the ground lol.

Integrity is a good thing. That's why I said you should let him know how you're feeling and make him aware of the fact that you've passed on a job offer purely out of personal integrity. If he does nothing to improve the areas of concern, then it's never going to change; with that in mind, you'll be more likely to jump at the next opportunity to improve your working conditions. That's just my gut feeling on it. You can think about that a little later today.
