TM advertises that the point of the race isnt to race, but to finish

either way, theyre both fun. If TM ever comes to hawaii, ill run that too. so far we only have the warrior dash, SR and..the color runs. lol

I loved it. I'm gonna try to throw it in as my arm workout once a week for a while.

I didn't get "sore" until a couple days later. But, my arms felt like they still had a pump the next day. It was awesome.

Well, I get a 2 week cheat day... Boo. Traveling for work in shitty hotels... I'm still going to try to follow the diet, but with no stove it'll be more difficult. Still going to kill it at the gym, but taking a week for deload as I've been going super heavy for months now.

How about a little enlightenment. I am 62, 170 and 6' 2". I probably eat more than most by a fair margin, but at this point in my life, only about a third of what I used to when I was about 30.

The doc started complaining about cholesterol, and wanted to stick me on Lipitor. I started at the gym instead. The owner of the place started me working out 3 to 4 times per week depending on when I can get to town. It is a 25 mile one way trip. I have been going for 6 weeks.

I do legs one day, and arms the next. Sorry I cannot be more specific, but there are 6 leg and 8 arm exercises. He has me do the exercises in groups of two, with me doing one, changing, and then going back to the first. I work down in increments of 2, starting with 16, 14, 12 ... and finishing with 6.

I do them rather quickly, to keep my heart rate up. I'd fall asleep on a treadmill or bike.

The exercises start with enough weight that at the 16 reps I can barely finish. At the 6 rep level, however, I breeze though. I have started adding weight at the 8 and 6 rep mark to make them more difficult.

Some of the names are hack squat, chest press, leg curls, leg ext, toe raises, leg press, lunges dumbbell curls, tri presses and more I cannot remember. It takes me about an hour to function after working out. I shake a good bit of the hour.

I feel better, and I sleep better, but am I really gaining anything? I work like a dog, and few my age would last next to me, and this extra workout has my ass dragging by the end of the week.

I eat two servings of oat meal for breakfast, a can of salmon, more peanut butter sandwiches than one can shake a stick at, a banana, apple, orange and nuts during the day. I usually eat greens and meat for dinner. 90% of the time it is chicken or fish.

The doc has also been on my butt about sugar too, so I avoid pastas and spuds most days.

    Diet or exercise comments welcome.
