Group buy: Pop N Lock Tailgate Lock (Ends April 08, 2009)

FWIW - I bailed out of the group buy a few weeks back and Daniel promptly sent me a refund.

I purchased a PL5300 from an Ebay link that was posted earlier. The unit is actually very nice.

I needed two extra keys and my local locksmiths did not have the blanks. Pop and Lock has extra keys for $10 for two shipped. I ordered them and they arrived two weeks later.

I know the group buy delivery isn't going well due to P & L but I just want to post this to let everyone know that the product is very nice and P & L is still in business.

DGerm, if you could just varify for me that the PopnLock I order was the correct one for my vehicle. I have a 2006 and I am waiting for the PL5300, is that right because I was just reading over the post and saw that the PL5200 worked as well. If I do have the wrong lock on order would it be possible for you to order me the correct one, maybe they have the PL5200 in stock? Thanks

 

^ you are waiting for the wrong lock. The 5300 is only for those of us with 09 tailgates and have the backup camera inside the handle. You could save money and time by ordering the correct lock. May have to go to ebay or TruckAlterations but you could probably have it in less than a week.



I'm curious how many are left as well. I wanted the lock for a couple vacations I am going on this summer. I made it through one already so I think I'll just wait it out.

 

Actually the PL5300 will fit all second gen Tacomas. There is a plastic plug on the left side of the handle that you can remove if you have a camera. I don't know if it is any better or worse than the PL5200 but it would seem P & L is planning on discontinuing the PL5200.

 

I know that is correct but if I was anxious to get a lock, I would get the 5200 because it definitely works with 05-08. I'm sure it is readily available from most vendors.

Regardless...I'm not here to argue. I'll just keep waiting without an end in sight for my 5300.

Sorry man, I sincerely apprecaite all the work, but I just cant hold out any longer. I would like a refund as well. Sorry this went so poorly. I think P&L did themselves a great disservice on this one.

Dgerm, I do not want a refund, however, it seems that I order the wrong lock. I ordered the PL5300 and I need the PL5200 for my 06. Can you please correct this for me, maybe they have this lock in stock? Please let me know as soon as you find out, thanks!

I'm in it Dan, I don't miss the money at this point, but I would really be proddin that lady with the cattle prod. They should understand that you gave them ALOT of money and nothing has come from it. Tell them you'll report them to the Better Business Bureau of the US and their business will be black listed or something...

Reading through Dgerm's updates, I don't think they have pulled the money from his card yet. So they are not holding our money and can just keep us waiting till the cows come home.
So long as Dan keeps his truck and keeps hanging around here, I'm not worried or missing my $30. If he wasn't a regular poster, I'd be a little more worried that he could just slip away.
