That is very high. I can help if you feel like driving her out to Chessy Bay.

Gotcha...yeah that makes sense. I negotiated the maintenance in there, so I totally forgot what came with the truck as the standard package. Good to know....

Yeah I am not sure what all entails a 30k service stop. I assume all fluids (including diffs) and oil. Probably that's it. I'll have to read the manual.

I might take you up on that. you're not totally far from me. Don't have a free weekend until after memorial day though.

Yea i dont remember off the top of my head but I think its like diff/transfer case fluids, spark plugs, oil change, and both air filters or something like that. I was looking at it the other day in the manual.. Dealer was going to charge me something like $98 each for the differentials and transfer case and then the normal $40 for oil and all that other stuff. Sounded ludicrous and I want to learn how to maintain it all by myself anyways so I said screw it. haha

Yeah I did all this stuff myself, and the 60k maintenance stuff (ATF, prop shaft, etc). The 30k stuff is easy once you know where the fill/drain plugs are. Gear oil has a nice "rich" smell to it. Reminds me of 5 and 7 ton trucks in the MC.

Wow...spark plugs at 30k? That is a bit insane....lol. You can probably skip that part, unless you have some cylinders misfiring or something already. That is a 2013...so you can wait probably until 80k or so for the plugs. Just my opinion though....

^ He's right on the plugs. I did mine at 60k. But they are not too expensive if you just want to replace them for the heck of it. At 60k mine looks pretty burnt, but not too much white crusty crap on them yet.

I would do the plugs at 30k. We use copper plugs in the v6 and they don't like being run much longer than that.

Yea I thought it was pretty low too but I'm just going by what I read (iirc) in the manual. But at the same time I'm putting 30k+ per year so that many miles in one year can't be easy on a new engine. Granted this engine technically only has 24k on it and not 29k right now.

I figured it can't hurt. They aren't really expensive so it shouldn't be a huge deal.

And damn, that sucks Danny. Hopefully they're reputable and will actually stand up for their work and fix it.

Yall have no idea this is the 4th time he has TRIED to FIX it no more. I've pulled it out 4 times got towed twice and wasted 4 cases of transmission fluid because this mother fu€ker. Luck I'm a mechanic or this would a cost a crap load the amount of times it's been in an out he should pay for all of it.

$350 is a lot but better than what they were going to charge my mom. She has a 2010 4runner @90k miles, they wanted $650 for plugs and PVC and $200 for diffs and transfer case. I picked up plugs and diff fluid for about $150.
This is after they tried to convince her to overhaul her engine and replace the piston rings etc for about $5k.
