One of my hard brake lines (the ones that run along the firewall) has gotten a hole rubbed in it due to vibrating on the aluminum cover that protects the kickdown cable.

Can anyone get me a part number.

It's the one that is at a 45* angle on the right.

It's the one on the far right.

If I call the dealer, what part should I ask for? The hard brake line?

Couple things, you've got rust starting to get bad on a not so good part of the frame (not that theres a good spot) that needs adressing & I assume that rust spot where the hardline is making contact is the hole ?.. & bottom pic is ABS pump, not sure it figures into things, is this the termination point you traced the line too ?? Regardless , yeah you'll have to either get new line from stealership or possibly wrecking yard, not sure on $$$

I thought about that. I'd wind up messing up the bends and nothing would fit right.

RUST?? I think what you are seeing is red dust mixed in with the leaking brake fluid. There is some rust on the bracket itself that the line ties into, but there is no rust on the frame. At least not yet. The frame is less than 4 months old.

But yes, the line originates from the pump and ends at the connection on the frame on the driver side. I'll call the dealer in the morning and see how much they want for one.

The really nice thing about a U-pull-it junkyard, is you can have the part off and headed for the pay desk in moments, versus the dealership which can be agonizing. I realize not everyone has access to a U-pull-it,,but if you can find one you will save a bunch of bucks and a whole bottle of headaches.

Take the old line with you,,take your pictures as well.

Found lots of pics of the very same double fitting on one bracket junction. Some of those pics are for abs,,and some are obviously not.

Have them drag up the ABS components page, find that ABS pump picture and it should have that line number next to that port. I found a basic number next to it, but not a Toyota part number. Listed as 15(155,11) in a service manual. I don't know how those numbers play out. Alot of digging just to get that.

Steel lines not available at dealer, either u-pull it or bend a new one.Bend a new one is not hard, just make sweeping bends as to not kink line, check with local garage they should be able to make one for you.I do brake lines at least once a week.(I hate road salt)

A tubing bender will help with making proper bends, but bends that are close together must be done by hand.
Get a couple pieces to practice on. Rent a flaring tool from autozone. You can always splice together a long run where you kink a complicated bend.
Take your time, and you'll get it.

Amazing that the dealership wont sell those lines due to them being ABS related. They might make them on the spot there, depending.

It's really not that bad making them as well. Have done lots of tubing bending and flaring and have all those tools and then some. Plenty of Youtubes out there,,and plenty of knowledgeable people here as well.

All you really need is a flaring tool,, a tubing cutter that needs to be in that flair kit as well,, lengths of correct size of line,, and cutting your old fittings off the holed line and reusing those so long as they are in good shape and not rounded off or otherwise unusable. Purchase a couple new fittings as well,,for backups during construction of the new line.

I can't believe that you can't get the line at the dealer and they have to be made....that's insane.

I'll have to see about getting some brake line at the local napa and a tubing bender and a flaring tool and the fittings and make me a new one in the next couple of days. thanks for all the info.
