    Speaking of garage door openers.

Newer ones allow you to erase the opener's memory and add back only the remotes you still have. They also allow you to disable all remotes temporarily (that's not entirely true since a wireless keypad will work).

It's worth disabling the remotes and adding a physical door lock to one or both sides of the door for when you're away. FWIW, Take a piece of safety wire and wire the door release closed-I doubt anyone is going to stand on a ladder and try to fish it open but you never know.

When cutting flat bar like that, way faster to stand it up whenever you can.

True, the problem I've run into though is the blade often wanders and won't cut square.

Sometimes it will wander, but that's usually because not enough tension on the blade, too fast, or guides are loose. Don't have to come down full speed.

    :edit:
It's also worth mentioning we have a giant Wilton, so it might be a slightly better machine.

Seriously not being a dick. But...

Really hope you weren't welding on wood, with several gas cans near you.

eh I weld on wood all the time, never had a problem:notsure:

Might be cause Im TIG welding though :p But I have mig welded over wood to, it takes a lot to actually catch:D

Yeah; was just giving him shit.. My wood workbench is covered in burn marks from my chop saw. But.. Those days are over. This thing is seriously friggin' awesome.

You haven't lived until you've burned 6010 right next to marine epoxy paint..

Not enough info here really. The 'schedule' part has more to do with pressure rating, IIRC. Pipe comes in different diameters and the wall thickness of a 1" schedule 40 pipe is different from the wall thickness of 2" schedule 40 pipe.

In either case, go with something that has a wall thickness of around .09 - .125

Oh I see. I am going to be going with 2" Steel tube. I was just worried about the strength of the rack considering it would be caring a large amount of weight. I wouldnt want to see the tube starting to bend. Thanks for the info!

I would worry more about your bed sides separating from the weight not the steel bending. If you don't have it properly mounted you can crack the top rails and separate the bed sides. tubes all the way to the bed bolts would be best for a RTT if you going to drive fast on rough roads.

So I finally got my 220 plug wired and dicked around for 30 min or so trying to get my welder setup (hobart 175). Have the 75/25 set to 40 on the flow and I'm still learning how to tell when to adjust wire speed up/down. Here's a picture of my first and last weld. Tips or advice would be much appreciated!

That looks like gas less flux. You need to be running hardwire/solidwire which is a gold color
