Removing 2014 airbag warning stickers

I tried steaming the airbag warning sticker on one of the visors (I removed the visor from my truck) and never got it to loosen up at all, even after filling up the steam iron twice with water. On other cars I just saturated the sticker with denatured alcohol, and tried that as well, but it still stuck to the visor. Did Toyota do something to make the stickers more permanent in 2014, or am I doing something wrong?

 

Aren't those like the mattress stickers that are illegal to remove?

but yah i think it’s illegal to take the air bag warning stickers off. just get some funny ones and cover them up. like one that says sit down buckle up and shut up.

 

Yes. The NSA has a team comprised of former hallway monitors that routinely investigates reports of missing mattress tags and other warning labels. They contract out to former blackwater employees who rappel through your windows in the middle of the night and cart you off to parts unknown.

The stickers are UGLY!! They only need to be in place if you are planning on selling to a private buyer. As for removing them ?? Idk maybe cover them with something permanent.

The mattress thing says "except by consumer". That would be you in most cases.

 

I used a hair dryer on them. Each one left some visible glue residual, but it is far less distracting to me than the yellow labels were. Some of the residual glue came off with Goo Gone, but not all of it.

When heating them up with the hair dryer, I found that it is necessary to really let the sticker get hot before pealing it off to avoid stretching the fabric. Patience is a virtue I may eventually get. Or not.
