Same with Mollie despite sleeping most of the way back down. I took her to the dog park because I knew she'd go bonkers after napping.

You jealous cause you haven't seen all the pinstripes yet :p
Most of the tree branches are unavoidable. Getting hit on all sides. I didn't get any pics, but hopefully the low hanging trees will show up on video. I have one big scratch by my taillight that looks like I may have rubbed up against the mountain... Which wouldn't surprise me :D

And most of those pics were taken by my wife. But thanks :)

Yep.. I really think that saved my ass a bit... couple instances of slipping and sliding around, just waiting and hoping to "catch and grab" on something. I'll call Maui in a couple days (closed today). Ordered last week, and the guy said about 2 weeks.. Scratched my head when Ivan said that Sequoia only needed 2 pulls in the mud.. My friend needed to get pulled the entire way out with his 1st gen (pre with locker). Must be all that weight on that Sequoia.. Next trip, I may not dump all my weight (especially if it is muddy).

Yea.. cringed to think how Rick's truck turned out.. I faired better than I thought. Haven't tried to buff anything out yet, but the sound of the branches were definitely worse than the actual carnage. I would think that Ratha (being a bit higher) hit the trees the most. Phil (with his 6") would hit the trees a bunch more too. Had a little bit of trail damage (curbage) on one of my rims.. probably when I was sliding and finally found something to grab on to. Unfortunately that was most likely the side of a rut or a rock.. nothing crazy..

I haven't filled up yet, but last night was sitting at 1/2 tank and was full on the way to the meet.. Good thing I filled up!

In retrospect, I may be looking to just make my 2x the most capable (for Oahu standards) truck I can.. Unless I caught the deal of the century on a used 4x that I could swap all my parts out to. (I was talking with my wife about not being comfortable taking a brand spanking new truck up peacock for camping with the family).
I may look into a steel bumper for the times I need to get pulled and I can leave the tow strap attached and ready to go.. lol.. :p

A big bumper might work against you for climbing hills, maybe something like a hybrid to minimize weight while giving you the protection and recovery point?

Saturday was beautiful. A couple of mud puddles, one that my friend barely made it up. I think someone even wanted him to try going up the hill backwards (that would have made good video).
