I might end up pretty close to this scenario. The dealer has come down 1100. to $22,300. and is offering me $10,500. for my '06 4cyl. To give an idea of what other TRD Sport Tacomas in my area are going for: there's an '07 listed for $18,995. and an '08 for $20,900. After all the investigating this truck may still be over priced but not as bad as I thought. And like I mentioned before, the dealer has also offered to switch my new Bilstiens 5100's, the AAL's and my tire/wheel set over at time of trade.

I just purchased a 09 double cab long bed, 40k miles at, new tires and tonnue cover pyrite mica for 22900. Sr5 with the or package. Only downside was the previous owner smoked ALOT, I'm pretty happy with the deal.

On a side note anyone know a good way to get rid of the smoke smell?

I just purchased a 2010 double cab long bed 4wd with 72k for 24600.....on the high side but not much higher than anything else I had found in my area for the last 2 or 3 months.

One of the main reasons I was willing to pay a little more was it is a southern Texas truck...all 72k in Texas. I won't buy a used Northern truck, seen too many rusted out underbodies. And when you start ruling out northern vehicles, the pickings get a lot slimmer. I needed the truck now, couldnt afford to risk my old work truck breaking down on me again. I didn't have the luxury of time so I found the truck within my price range and with the options and specs I needed, then took it.

The value of used Tacomas fluctuates a lot more than it does with other vehicles. If you have the luxury of time, yes you can find a better deal. But if you can afford to take this truck at that price and dont feel like waiting around then go for it. You can always debate value and whether or not you're getting the absolute best deal but that's not always the only variable in play. In my case I was way more worried about finding a truck within my timeframe with my desired specs than I was about finding the absolute lowest price.

They sure hold their value. My 2011 still blue books between $28-$29.5K when I bought the truck late 2010 for $29,700.
